Re: Red & Black Holiday Sale!
I held off on the BF sales, but I'm definitely interested in this. Lumpy, thanks for the reminder that you can get discontinued knives like the Police 4 in G10. I wouldn't mind a non-FRN Police 4 (G10 or Pakkawood, I'm not picky) so I can make some scales for it. Hopefully I'll be able to find that ...

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up
There has been a sizable group of C-60 Ayoob fans who have been requesting a SALT version of this superb model for years now. I myself would also like to see an LC200N version of the C-60 at some point. It's been said on a few occasions that the C-60 does a decent job of filleting fish as well as o...

Unfortunately, I don't have it near me. I keep that knife in Texas when I go and visit for several weeks around the holidays. I won't be able to get you anything in a timely manner.

Re: Lil’ temperance in k390
I haven’t seen one in person but it appears to be about the same size as a Manix minus the choil. Is this true? Thanks! When comparing actual cutting edges, the Lil Temp is almost identical to the Manix. The handles are quite different. While shorter, I find the Lil Temp to be extremely comfortable...

Re: Lil’ temperance in k390
Man, there were some great deals on this knife. I have the VG10 version and love how it feels in hand. I was tempted to get this one, but ultimately decided against it. I don't find myself with cutting tasks that my current version can't handle. Still, what a great knife. Holding is believing.

Re: Chasing Ghosts: The effect of edge aggression between steels.
Conclusion Edge Aggression is not just a feature of edge finish, testing shows the microstructure of the steel itself particularly the carbide size and volume can play a huge role in the edges ability to slice with the least amount of force possible. Further testing is required to see what ranges o...

Re: Any interest in a sprint/exclusive crucarta Gayle Bradley 1?
I’d love to see a return of the GB1. Could even be the original configuration. It is much more elegant than the 2 in my opinion.

The GB1 looks so much better IMO. Not holding my breath for that. Interested in this exclusive though. I’d think about some wood scales as well.

Re: Community Sharpening Journal
here's something different. repairing a chipped robo-coupe blade with a dmt diafold. How does a chipped robo-coupe blade affect performance from a culinary point of view? Like, I'm not sure it would be all that different when making something like a pesto. Or is this just about maintaining a tool?

Re: Perfecting the perfection with current materials.
Imagine this in M4, 4V, Rex45 or a Crucarta run. For those who don't know, Vivi is known for (among other things) having bear paws for hands. I've amended the original image with a normal sized hand for scale. https://i.postimg.cc/MHKKDVGP/vivi-hand.png Vivi, I mean no offense by this, just trying ...

Re: Perfecting the perfection with current materials.
With the expansion close to being done, the idea of resurrecting some Golden models is a little more palatable. There’s an opportunity cost to producing “another” Manix. I think the criticism of too many variants of existing knives is fair. Many of us want new and exciting. Maybe the expansion allow...

Re: Black Friday Wish List?
Not sure if I’ll purchase it, but National Knives has a ZDP Endura. ZDP seems like such an odd yet interesting steel. I don’t find the Endura to be all that comfortable, hence the hesitation.
I got a KC exclusive Delica last year. Love that knife.

Re: So excited for this drop!!!!
Only way they're going to do higher hardness HAP40 is if they do away with the SS cladding. I don't think that's out of the question like it used to be since Seki did Cruwear without cladding Has anybody seen Hap40 without cladding? All the examples I can think of (be it pocket knives or kitchen kn...

Re: Native Chief LW
With the recent announcement that GP Knives is extending their white/Rex 45 exclusive to the Manix line, I'm hopeful that they release a Native Chief LW in Rex 45. I've heard good things about the steel and missed out on the sprint. I remember when they did this configuration for the Native 5. It se...
