Re: Have you ever simply just NOT been able to remove a screw? Even when there's not thread locker?
Here is how I've handled that situation in the past. If I come across a screw that doesn't want to come out or thread in correctly, I set my knife and Wiha aside for a few days. It is always is easier to come back and approach relaxed after a day or two. If I get frustrated initially, the torque I u...

Re: Getting excited for BladeShow
It helps to get an early start only to wait in a really long line to get in. Once the doors open though, it'll be worth it. Wear comfortable shoes and take a small backpack to carry home all your loot.

Cruwear, Hap40 in my Spydies. Small fixed blades in 80CRV2 are my weakness.

Re: St Nick's Delica
This knife finds more time in my pocket each week. I'm not the biggest Delica fan, but the G10 scales make it feel upgraded somehow. Not only is the red/black combo stunning, it is a classy user to boot. If you are thinking about getting one, go ahead, you won't be disappointed.

Re: Helping people in need without getting scammed, conned, and messed over?
I don’t have much time with homeless, but I do with people in extreme poverty. The only way I know of is to invest time in their lives. It is great thing to spend time with people and help them find resources or even pick up some groceries. As far as the homeless population is concerned, my approach...

I’d keep the Techno. It’s my “fun” blade to carry. I have to say, I’ve never had a knife grow on me like it has.

Re: Best Defense in attempted mugging/assault?
I still believe one of the smartest moves, if you spend time in those kind of neighborhoods, is to have a dummy wallet on you. I've thankfully never had to use mine, but know its a grab and go transaction those types are after.
Otherwise, I always have a blade or two on my person just in case.

I spoke with someone at KC today; I was getting anxious they sold out. They are waiting for some more to come in as of today. The lady was confident my order would be filed next week sometime.

Re: Article: The Kind of Man Who Carries a Pocket Knife
I was fortunate to grow up in a real-deal hardware store that my grandfather started in the 1940's. Up in the front was a huge glass case full of Old Timer, Uncle Henry and John Primble pocket knives. Right beside the register was the Case knife display. Every man I knew growing up had knives in the...

Re: People still like Benchmade?
Benchmade still makes the best production line balisong around. I have a 44 & 45 model from the late 1990's that still finds pocket time and have actually gotten smoother with age. They are a bit on the heavy side, but I don't ever see myself getting rid of them.

Add to that the possibility that I'll miss getting a CS exclusive (can't imagine they'll last more than an hour, even if it's a full 1200 piece run) and BBS might go back to full retail on their exclusive in the meantime... I am in the same boat on the what to buy next decisions, decisions, etc. Wi...
