Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

I've been asked by some people to illustrate the modifications I made to eliminate my Ikuchi bites. I'll show you what I did, but don't blame me if you screw something up. :) I'm stealing Paul's photo for this description because the Loctite just finished drying on my knife and I really don't want t...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

How would you say it compares functionally? First, let me acknowledge and praise your choice of Avatar! I played EQ so much (60-80hrs a week for years) that I eventually went to work for SOE and even flew out to interview with Brad Mcquaid when he started Sigil Games (which later became the studio ...

Love the clip. What is it?

Ripp's Garage Tech (RGT) Wire Replacement Clip. https://rippsgaragetech.com/collections ... 9754456126

There are lots of great options, but they can be pricey!

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

UPS lost mine this morning then called me 15 minutes later after finding it and I turned around and went back for it. 😉

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

I went home for lunch and made her mine. https://i.imgur.com/c9R9eCY.jpg I switched out the clip to an RGT wire replacement clip and fixed the finger cutting tip. The modification to get the blade to rest a few thousands of an inch deeper in the scale was quite complicated. I hadn’t seen Paul’s repl...

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

Just picked up my sample of the Ikuchi and I gotta say, Paul, this is the first knife that made me exclaim "Whoa!" when I opened the box. It looks and feels great, and I don't see it leaving one of my pockets for some time. It's the perfect back pocket backup riding next to my wallet, yet ...

The Chapel is still in use, and holds mass, but is primarily used for wedding ceremonies. This is Adriatic Village at St Pauls's Square in Mckinney, Texas. We moved here last November.

Welp, dang, I'm Protestant, so I'm out!

Thanks for the update.

Re: Caribbean sheepfoot custom for ultra trail running competitions

First, Spyderco is very helpful for getting replacement parts now. You'll want to call the Spyderco Factory Outlet at +1 (303) 279-8613 ext. 4 and they will help you out. You're obviously using your Carribean for the rough use in which Spyderco designed it, though a different environment than the oc...

Re: Are benchstones covered under warranty?

Unless it is very extreme, Spyderco will probably find that it fits within their allowed tolerances. I’ve had much better luck just returning it to the retailer from which I bought it for an even exchange.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

I have never taken any of my Spyderco knives apart to inspect their parts, also never took any of my other non Spyderco knives apart. But i would hope Spyderco would investigate poster Zatx's knife's corrosion item he is showing us in the post, and i would hope that Zatx would be willing to send hi...

Available at Lamnia.

Thank you for posting this. It sucks I had to order from Europe instead of going through my normal channels here in the US, but at least I’ll get one.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

Okay, at this point I think I'm the victim of a sick joke, or I'm getting punked or something. I disassembled my Drunken to try and photograph the corrosion on the stop pin and discovered the same corrosion on the steel nested liner! I never could get a clear picture of the stop pin because it's so ...

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?

In answer the OP's question... "Very few people are getting Ikuchi's as soon as they are released." The rest of us will have to wait six months for the second run and hope we can find one then. I really wish Spyderco would stop being so stinking conservative with their first production run...

Thank you for taking the time to document your modification of the clip. Unfortunately, it doesn't change the thickness of the material, its sharp edges, or its uncomfortable upswept tip.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

As a lefty this knife is useless to me since it can’t be carried left hand but to me the simple solution has already been mentioned. Take the clip off, bend it a little and good to go. I bend all my clips for stronger retention as it is. Also I usually bend down the ramp a little so it doesn’t catc...

I couldn't just put this issue away, so I've been trying a couple of different options in an attempt to offer solutions rather than just complaints. Here is an elegant change to eliminate the pocket catching, and it doesn't require a redesign of the clip: https://i.imgur.com/nfVVz1u.jpg If you move ...

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.

It's supposed to have a style, to look 100% nice That's why they chose these high end materials and the drunken pattern and all that milling that went into it that ultimately costs money But I think that custom clips on expensive pieces it's a step in the right direction If you keep on crying about...
