Re: Updated shaman sprint steel poll
Cool thread, cool knife. Definitely interested in picking up a sprint/exclusive Shaman. Seems the general consensus is Cruwear and I'm okay with that! I am partial to OD Green and I think that ODG micarta would look great on the Shaman. Brown micarta would be nice as well. ODG or brown micarta; eith...

Re: Chef is Back, Tell a Friend.
Thanks for the heads up Spyder! I too have been looking around for a Spydiechef and just placed my order with KC! I definitely was not planning on dropping another 2+ bills for a knife right now lol, but I also have been looking for my first Taichung Spyderco so this kills two birds with one stone f...

Re: Can't open my St Nicks Para 3
Sorry guys I am pretty new here and must be misinformed. I was under the impression that disassembling your knife voided the factory warranty? How would removing the pivot screw not be considered disassembly? No problem Xander. We are all here to help each other. This was a real hot topic maybe 2 y...

Re: Can't open my St Nicks Para 3
If St N did apply thread locker to the pivot to help with customs, they've essentially already voided your Spyderco factory warranty so... tinker away without fear lol.

Why does Spyderco even allow BBS to be one of their distributors?

Re: Maintaining factory edge.
I’m kind of confused, Spyderco states the Tenacious has a 17-20 degree edge on the blade. But, the SM only sharpens at 30 degrees or 40 degrees. Can someone clarify this? After I get mine, I’m gonna have to use the coarse stones and regrind to 30 degrees? The SM 30/40 degree is referring to "i...

Re: Who uses Sharpmaker exclusively?
The factory edge bevel angle is ~40 degrees inclusive, correct? Surprised that some people are using the 30 degree setup to maintain factory edges then? Factory edge bevel angle usually somewhere between 30°- 40° inclusive. Sometimes it's even a little less than 30°. I just touched up my Advocate o...

Doesn't look like its on the list of new releases for this year, but does anyone know if BHQ plans on releasing this with DLC blade finish, like they have done in the past?

Re: Brouwer: Initial thoughts
Looks like an internal stop pin. I also don't understand the clip location on a lot of new models. I don't obsess over deep carry but this one seems to ride really high out of the pocket for the size of the knife. Nice touch to make it an internal stop pin. I actually don't really like deep carry b...

Re: Brouwer: Initial thoughts
Does the Brouwer not have a stop-pin??
Also, not sure why they couldn't just move that pocket clip down next to the lanyard hole, instead of below it..

Really hoping it gets released before 2019! That's much too long to wait, lol. This would make a nice Christmas present to myself!

Do I spy a matching OD green clip on that REC?Brown_Recluse wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 5:08 pmI've got MXG clips on my Para 3s. They leave room for the lanyard tube and completely hide the knife in the pocket.
If the Lynch clips were available when I was looking for a replacement I would have gotten them but I wasn't going to wait for them.

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
That Native. Do tell... Oh fine, give me a reason to post some sexy pics of this knife... It is the FFG S90V with the fluted CF scales. Really starting to like it as it breaks in. I disassembled, cleaned and lubed it with a little nano-oil 85W and its definitely getting a lot smoother. Still a litt...

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
Here is a pic of the MXG clip ("plain" finish) on my Para3 with my new Native in the background! I wanted the knife to sit a little lower in the pocket, but not 100% immersed in the pocket and I find this clip to be a nice compromise. Still have the lanyard hole area to grab when pulling f...

Re: Casey Lynch Short Clip vs. MXG Gear Short Clip
From those pics, the anodizing finish looks a lot better on the MXG. Gotta say I wasn't too keen on the blue G10 PM2/Para3 but it looks really good with the matching clip! Another thing that I am liking about MXG is that they have a pretty decent website where you can order directly from, and you do...
