Re: Suggestions: Mounting a clip on a ARK
I did this. I drilled a hole in the sheath and mounted a G clip. Worked well, though I ended up taking the clip off and using paracord loops for belt carry. https://i.imgur.com/O7a8hRE.jpg :D now, on topic, Cold Steel has just announced a new clip that might go well with this one https://youtu.be/O...

Re: Ever met any celebrities?
so far it's been five, Guillermo del Toro, Álex de la Iglesia (both were at Sitges film festival having lunch next to us, we sat there like we would've anywhere else, and we realised who they were before they brought us the first course), Tim Leatherman (twice, one by chance, later in a planned even...

Re: What do you consider the most practical EDC?
The big cargo pockets have vertical dividers so there are three compartments in each. I could comfortably carry 6 folders clipped in the two big cargo pockets if I felt inclined, haha. not 6 folders, but 6 inch folders, is what I often carry in those big pockets :o It won't come as a surprise to ma...

Re: Most efficient everyday cutting chore blade shape, grind, and thickness?
I think a 2mm wharncliffe in ffg or high hollow grind. I've traditional with the blade stock under 2mm. They're not fragile. This is good to know. That means 2 MM can cut very well and also stand up to the stress and strain. Thank you. An Opinel no.6 Inox is listed at 1.27 mms. I've never found a m...

Re: Hard truths and observations
Why have I been here for 8 years? Because I prize trustworthiness over most things and have seen NOTHING to betray my trust in the Spyderco crew. The appearance of Spydies I can’t or won’t buy because of cost (there are and have been quite a few) is NOT a metric I use to gauge trustworthiness. I ha...

Re: Your top 5 Sal Glesser designs?
Grafting cuts require a very sharp edge that will make the cut without squishing the plant parts. They have to match another plant part and if the parts are squished, they don't "mend / graft" as well,. FYI, VG-10 was created for grafting of plants. sal not hard to believe, since I have s...

Re: Bottle Openers
I always carry a SAK with a bottle opener (either a SAK Pioneer or SAK Spartan). The bottle opener feature isn't often used to open bottles for me, but it makes a good light-duty prying tool and box opener (using the large screwdriver head). Jim that's mine too :o https://i.imgur.com/3DRfgBU.jpg

Re: Which multi-tool do you EDC?
For a long time I carried a Micra in my pocket, but last year I started carrying a full sized multi-tool. I like the tool selection on the Surge much better. It has an Awl and no useless (to me) eyeglass driver. I like that it can use jigsaw blades, has more robust scissors, and has a wider selecti...

What's the blue multi? Reminds me of the skeletool a bit. hi Vivi, and Happy New Year! That's an OUTU Scissors-Pliers multitool. Made in China, now also sold by Schrade with a different color and name, and double the price, but the same tool as the original  It has spring loaded pliers an...

Re: What's the lowest edge retention steel you'd carry?
I carry weekly or daily "low tier" steels like Victorinox steel , Opinel (Carbon and Stainless), 420HC in my multitool blades, 440A (CRKTs, old Cold Steels, Kershaws), "alphabet soup" steels (Chinese folders, usually 9Cr or 8Cr13MoV like the Byrds but some are 5Cr), H1 (Salts) an...

Re: Which Spyderco fits you?
In folders, the best fit for me is the Resilience, being a close second the Pacific Salt
Fixed blades are the Rock Salt (like it was made for my hand) and Aqua Salt
the ones that don't really fit well are the Tasman and Salt I, so I imagine the Delica wouldn't be good in my hand either
