Cat's Eye stones
I just measured my "Cat's Eye Stones" that came with my GALLEY V 600F sharpening kit. My stones measure an exact 12 inches. I didn't even know that there were different size stones for that particular kit. I first bought my 600F complete kit about 4 years ago and the 12 inch stones came wi...

Go DYAD
Welcome to the Forum Denny. I am rather new myself ( only a month). My recommendation for your next :spyder: and I think there are at least 2 collectors that would agree with me. You definitely want to get a big DYAD ( C-44 P&S). That is my favorite EDC ( every day carry) but I only take it with...

Customer Care ++++++
A big 10-4 on the customer care part of the Great :spyder: factory. I recently talked to Amanda my own self and had the same very courteous, attentive, and thorough exchange as was described. Everyone who I have dealt with ( especially at the knife shows) really cares if you are a satisfied customer...

Big COLD STEEL not bad
I will say that I used to deal in COLD STEEL but like the other comrades I was brought ultimately to :spyder: because of the overall quality. I think ( in my humble opinion) that Cold Steel is strickly a knife for hard users. I don't think any of them were ever purposed to be of a collector caliber ...

Let's Be CIVIL
 :spyder: I got my Civilian about 3 months ago. I like it but I do like the Matriarch a little bit better. In my case I think it will be more mobil in a nasty situation. I would really love to have a PE version my own self. I am also on the hunt for a PE Spyderhawk ( My very favorite of al...

Yojimbo
I finally broke down and bought a Janich "Yojimbo" with CPM S30V. I like the Dodo so much and the Yojimbo has a handle very much like Mr. Dodo. I should be getting it in about 1 week. I guess the " Ronin" is pretty much the fixed blade version of that knife. Does anybody else not...

RED Endura
Hello all. While on a cruise, my red handled spyderedge Endura (the old style with the molded clip) was stolen out of my shaving kit bag. I reported it to the cruise line and they searched my stateroom like I was the thief. Now after several weeks, I get a letter that says that they can't prove tha...

ATS-55 Born Again
ATS-55 is IMO a very underrated steel. You're gonna laugh, but I love it too. I had great results with it. I have 2 of those Dyads ( the big one and the little micarta one) and both of them have ATS-55 and I find no fault with it at all. I do like S30V a little better, I must admit. JD Spydo :) :sp...

Dodo sharpening trick
OK I guess you all want to know how I get my Dodo like a curvy razor. Do you all remember the old GALLEY V sharpener that :spyder: used to make. The stones in that old sharpening kit are of a "cats eye" shape. You take the Dodo beginning at the heel of the blade and ride it at a slight ang...

Numbered
:) :spyder: I have a serrated, left handed, numbered CF Police I got on EBay for $71. I truly believe that everyone was sleeping on that Thursday evening. I really love the knife. I wish I could find a used one for EDC. Great handle material for sure :spyder:

Real McCoy??
I have one of those Ti Herbst. I have looked all over for the notch that has been mentioned referring to a possible factory second. How can I know for sure that it is indeed a factory first? I have been thinking about puting mine on Ebay just to test the market. Oh by the way I paid $150 for mine. P...

204 Diamond triangles??
:) :spyder: You need to get the Diamond triangles which go with the 204 Sharpmaker. I had the same problem with my first knife made from CPM S30V. Depending on how dull it is you need to hit it about 20 strokes on each side with the Diamond triangles. If money is not an object then I highly recommen...

Steel Zeal
:) :spyder: I pretty much agree with most of the above opinions regarding the VG-10 and S30V blade steel analysis. I know some of you will want to throw rocks at me but I really like the ATS-55 in my :spyder: DYAD. For an EDC ( only on Sundays) I have had exceptional luck with that blade steel. Funn...

Jot Singh
:) I have 3 of them that I obtained through EBAy trades ect. The only thing I don't like about the knife is they only made them with GIN-1. I think it would be a comeback candidate if they would bring it back in CPM S30V. It is about my favorite small blade :spyder: design.

Name Game
When you give your :spyder: 's a name like it is a pet dog. Or like my Dodos I call Mr. & Mrs. designating plain edge & serrated edge respectively. I call my "Renegade" EARL because he is an old hard working redneck but very reliable. I wonder if Dr. Laura would understand. :o :spy...

Cleanser
:spyder: ;) The best commercial cleanser I have found to clean the stones on my 204 Sharpmaker is called "Bar Keeper's Friend". You can usually find it in the grocery stores where they sell the AJAX & COMET. Also before I scrub them with the BKF I usually soak them in really hot water ...

:spyder: When is the Szabofly due to be released? I talked to the Glessers ( Sal & Eric) at the Spirit of Steel knife show in Dallas. They said that it would be a month or so but would not be nailed down to a specific date. I want one very badly my own self. Does anyone know the actual release d...

Spyderhawk Supreme
:) :spyder: I am with you 100% on the Spyderhawk. I have 2 of the black nylon handled versions but I have not even seen any other than that one. If you find one with a stainless handle I would be immensely interested my own self. I would even love one with a micarta handle.

Mr Dodo
I have virtually made my PE Dodo an EDC. I usually carry an older "Renegade" for work purposes but I am increasingly using my Dodo PE for more and more cutting chores every day. By the way I have a sharpening trick for the Dodo if anyone is interested. :spyder:

Micro Oiler
:spyder:  Check out the "Garrett Wade" company ( http://www.garrettwade.com ). They have what they call a Micro-oiler. It has a very small, needle like stem which would make it very easy to oil about anything. I have ordered one myself but not gotten it yet. Everything I have got...
