Re: Swayback Lookout Thread

**EDITED - Unnecessary insults. - TazKristi** In the end even the handles may indeed feel different over there, they may get rounded more due to your specific Parisian atmosphere or even based on the exact GPS coordinates for your location. You got obviously some agenda against Poland, now France ?...

Re: Swayback Lookout Thread

Nice pics. Thanks! Yeah, I love photography, of course. And simply buy whatever makes you happy :) I love your photography so much that I post them on the Spyderco Fanclub France on Facebook !! :-) Great picture and great knife in the outdoors. (I have also bump on our "optimistic" German...

Re: Swayback

So, my straight take on this knife: It is a modern take on a traditional design and as such you have to live within the knife's design. If you do not wish to or cannot do that, that is perfectly fine as there are many other knives from wish to choose. The only thing I will do to mine, other that re...

Re: Swayback

Ah I have found a picture of what a compression lock can do to the hand in case of hard use http://paulkirtley.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/my-hand-being-chewed-up-by-liner-lock.jpg from http://paulkirtley.co.uk/2012/can-i-use-a-lock-knife-for-bushcraft/ This is not an issue with the Swayback wh...

Re: Swayback

The way you grip it very close to the blade, leaving the up-swept part of scale and the back end of the clip outside your palm, saves you the pain And you probably doing push-down cuts. Try to grip it hard like that guy in the video I posted above does and the way I tend to do it, with the clip and...

Re: Swayback

Excuse me for having a different opinion than yours, but I thought I should drop in a few lines because is far from being that perfect as suggested.... To each their own. ;-) The Swayback is not perfect. Far from that. But it suits my needs because I have been obliged to adapt myself to it ? Perhap...

Re: Swayback

From the moment you grip it tight, it hurts. LOL you seems to have much sensitive palms ! Apart for the hideous clip I cannot be more opposite to your point of view. I use it on hard matters like plastic and wood and really there is no issue with the knife perfectly secured in my grip, edge down or...

Re: Swayback

Once you get used to it, it opens easily but there is a serious different way (a "sway?") to open the blade... I have told that story in my first article post on the wayback: https://nemoknivesreview.com/2020/08/14/this-is-the-swayback-spyderco-c249tip-first-glipse-at-a-sebenza-grand-child/

Re: Swayback

Thank you for the gentle words ! :-)

Yes my issue with my Swayback is like a curse. It always jump in my pocket.
Long sharp edge in a very gentleman packaging. Clever engineering and great ergos.
It is very hard to put it back in its pouch. Once you start to use it... It is an addiction. :-D

Re: First Glimpse at my Swayback

Shipping was free. (And the Sequel are pure horrors. Killing the Star Wars myth. How people with full open budget and all the time in the world have been able to create such non sense moronic flicks... This is a shame... They kill my childhood dreams... Anyway Gary Kurtz was the real architect and M...

Re: First Glimpse at my Swayback

Very nice review and pictures Nemo! Got me thinking if what first Ti Spydie should I get, the Chef or this one. Chef is more available though at this time. Thank you !!! :-) The Chef is more versatile: wide blade easy on the board, and no maintenance. You can dive in the sea with it. The Swayback i...

Re: First Glimpse at my Swayback

Really not a fan of that standard clip on this design, it looks like an afterthought. I like the knife itself though https://nemoknivesreview.files.wordpress.com/2020/08/20200814_102914.jpg?w=1024 https://nemoknivesreview.files.wordpress.com/2020/08/20200814_104545.jpg?w=800 That is better, I think...

Re: First Glimpse at my Swayback

Man, this Swayback thing did not go the way I was hoping. The size and the stamped steel clip say Working Knife, but those lines are all about a gent’s folder. This is precisely the huge charm of the Swayback design: an iron hand in a velvet glove. It is a wolf dressed as a sheep. The kind of knife ...

Re: First Glimpse at my Swayback

Nice acid work !!

The Swayback is one of the most sharp Spyderco's factory edge I have ever got. I even don't remember my Nilakka being that sharp.
Yesterday I was cutting deep in the board of that Pizza. ;-)
