I just received a used blue Delica today. I've bought them as gifts for other people but this is the first one that I've owned myself. I'm doing to try carrying it as a second knife in addition to my primary folder. (Today the primary folder is a Para2 in red dyed digicam.

Got my para2 in the mail today. Everything is just perfect. What a great product. I cant believe I wasted my money on expensive Benchmade butter knives. BM makes a good product, I have lots of them and I have lots of Spyderco, plus a few from a few other brands. The designs are different but I cann...

I would imagine it would be more difficult to use a model with a BBL like the Manix if it had a tip down clip... I imagine this is the case with more than just this model...the tip down option seems to lend itself mostly to backlocks, else the clip would interfere with the ease of using the lock. T...

The primary reason I like tip up on most knives is because it gets the bulk of the knife (and center of mass) much lower in the pocket and away from the opening. This aids in pocket access and keep the knife safe & secure. I find this especially important on more bulky knives like the Manix 2. ...

To rival the Contego I was going to suggest the Manix 2 XL, particularly the recent run with S90V steel, but those will cost a little more now.

Maybe you should practice more.... I do. My Manix2 is probably my most-carried knife these days. All this week I'm carrying a different 4" tip-up knife. I've been carrying knives with clips for over 20 years, starting with my first Spyderco. I've practiced until I can use either one, but the t...

What's so terrible about tip-up anyway? 1. It's slower. 2. It's insecure. (I feel like I'm like a lone crusader for truth and justice.) I have knives that work either way, and I'm carrying a tip up knife now. Every time I pull it out to use it I'm reminded how slow and insecure tip up carry is. I h...

I have a Para2, Manix2 and Manix2 XL. I am interested in buying the Manix2 Lightweight. My impression of Para2 vs. Manix2 is this- The Manix2 is heavier and is a little taller so it takes more room in your pocket, but it feels a lot more solid. The Para2 is trim and light. Both have good locks and I...

I agree that this is a fascinating hobby and generates a lot of passion. There are enough different aspects of the hobby to keep a person occupied for a long time.

What happened to this one? Seems long ago we heard about it I have not heard much about it. I also seem to remember discussion some time ago about a Ti Para2 but have not heard anything more about it either. But right now the thing most interesting to me is the Manix 2 LW S110V, and there hasn't be...

you guys in the states have no idea how good you have it But the thing is that nobody has any to sell. It is still very scarce. There are lots of rumors that Obama is buying it and dumping it in the ocean. This seems farfetched but OTOH there is not enough of it hitting store shelves to support the...

Here's a quick solution I came up with today. It's a Plano crank bait organizer. I have a slightly larger one that I bought at Walmart, probably about 9" x 14". It has 4 compartments about 2" x 14". They can be subdivided, mine is subdivided to give 8 compartments 2" x 7&qu...

Pretty simple really, if the distance from the butt of the handle to the pivot and thumb hole is more than the size of your hand can cover without having to fumble around and shimmy your hand into position, then tip down makes sense because you'll draw the knife with your hand already right near th...

I don't like deep carry clips because they make it harder for me to pull the knife out. I grab the part of the knife that is exposed and pull the knife out that way. With a deep carry clip if you try to grab that way you just pinch the clip tighter against your clothes and make it harder to pull out...

The world of knives is vast! tall and wide and deep with many tunnels leading to large carverns. The old Unix computers could be set to display a "fortune" or "saying" when you logged on. One day one of our secretaries logged on and got the message "you are lost in a maze o...

I had ignored the LW Manix for a long time because I was mostly interested in G10 scales. I managed to handle the standard blue LW Manix 2 recently and I was so impressed by its light weight that I decided I should look into getting one. I was a little put off by the steel in the standard LW, but in...

I have lots of Spydercos, and a few other brands. All of the knives I've bought in recent years have had plenty of detent to keep the blade closed. I always carry my knives using the pocket clips so there isn't much try to open the blades. If I was carrying a knife loose in my pocket with a lot of o...

Without looking at either knife, I'm going to assume that the Para 2 has a rough finish because you're looking at the grind marks left by the machining process, while the Manix 2's blade has been stonewashed smooth. I have a hollow-ground Manix 2 with 154 blade. The blade has a shiny finish with no...
