Re: Any more Super Blue knives in the works?

Give that Super Blue some room to run. Longer edge on a Stretch XL would be about right.

But what if you're hunting both toads and cicadas? Combo edge? Need a group shot.

Can't shake the mental image of a dozen or more forum members, Spydies firmly in hand, headlamps shining brightly, out for an evening toad hunt.

The Byrd SEs are going for a song on some discontinued sales right now. Saw Harrier 2 SE Wharnies for $26 or $27 at a couple of sites. Be a crime not to stash a couple away.

That's the one. It's a real beaver on cardboard. Takes an edge fairly easily and holds it for a decent amount of time. Vines and small green limbs are easy fodder.

Either a PE 3"-4" folder with a SE Manbug, or a SE 3"-4" folder with a PE Manbug. Plus there is always a Leatherman Skeletool in a kydex sheath on my left side, always.

Re: Spyderco 2023 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

I was holding off on my first SPY27 until the Native Chief LW release, but that UKPK in SPY27 is mighty tempting. I feel like suppressing these feelings might be unhealthy...

Re: Am I missing out on S110V?

I've had good experience with S110V in multiple models. Once I've established the desired edge angle it becomes relatively easy to re-sharpen and I really haven't had any issues with chipping. Of course, I use my knives the way they were intended to be used.

Re: Sharpening stone(s) for a relative newbie?

Can't go wrong with the Spyderco Medium and Fine benchstones. The Ultrafine gets a little pricey though. Some diamond emulsion on a strop may get you the finished edge you want.

Really want to try M4 and I love the Endura platform, but that mint is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. But still may pick one up for the denim micarta scales I've got coming from Ukraine.

Re: St. Nick’s Exclusive red and black Goddard!

You guys are 'next level'. Mongo (me) just pawn in game of sharpening, but I learn something most every time I hit this thread, so thanks. I will say that I'm no slouch at free-handing with diamond and ceramics, and all of my knives are pretty much sharp enough to shave with, though prolly a bit mor...

Re: Spyderco 2023 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

Is the action any better on the K390 Lil Temperance 3 LW? I picked up an SE on the initial new release in VG-10. The comp lock is not my first preference and falls behind the backlock, cbbl, and liner lock in my 'druthers. However it works well for me in the PM2 and Sage 5 LW. That being said, my Li...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

Yeah, I am totally in love with the Cats Eye rods, and I have both the Galley V and the Gauntlet w/both sets of rods. I would love to be able to seamlessly set those rods at 15 degrees without having to prop the bases. As it is I am stuck at 10 and 20. I will note that the SM triangle rods will fit ...

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I heartily second this request! I wish there was a base that would hold the cat eye rods from The Gauntlet and/or the Galley V at 10°, 15° and 20°. 12.5° and 17.5° wouldn't hurt my feelings either. And while we're at it, how about some medium grit cat eye rods as well?
