Re: Smock Knives SK23

That's a nice pry bar. :) You know for suck a thick blade it's actually quite a good slicer. Beats the Yojimbo. It's kind of like the Techno in that regard, surprisingly good considering how thick the blade stock is. She's great through cardboard and such. I've been using it for everything other th...

Re: Smock Knives SK23

I agree it's not a cheap knife, but it is what you pay for a custom. If I wasn't a lefty I prob wouldn't have done it, I would have bought 2 higher end production models instead ; ) but now that I have it, I'm convinced it was/is worth it! His prices have since creeped up too but if you can swing it...

Re: Smock Knives SK23

Nice blade shape. Yup, I love me a nice wharnie! He's got a nice little fixed blade with the same shaped blade, and he's made a bottle opener/knife with same shape. Couple other designs too including the nicest Bali I've ever seen. Too bad I can't have one here in Canada : ( You guys should really ...

Re: Smock Knives SK23

Update. No callous! Thumb was a tad tender for a couple days but no worse for the wear. Still carrying it all day, everyday. Paired up with a Northwoods Esky Zulu to handle all of my cutting needs! The weight has not been an issue. Rides unnoticeable in pocket and the width of the clip really helps ...

Re: Unabridged Unapologetic Case for the Para Military 2 Left Hand *

I would probably buy a lefty para because I think it would work better for me right handed. I don't have any trouble with the standard PM2 as a lefty, however when closing it by using my thumb to flick it closed, fingers clear of the blade travel, it leaves not much grip on the knife. The only thin...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Indeed it is a Northwoods Esky Zulu in denim micarta. It's not cheap (I'm in Canada so it's even more) but not as pricey as the giraffe or mammoth! The Michigans in denim are what inspired me to make the homemade denim scales for my GB. I pictured these together but I got the Zulu to pair with my Sm...

Re: Paramilitary 2 Custom scales

You might also want to check this site out...I havent got any from here yet, but I've read good reviews on multiple sites. I'll be ordering some Endura scales later this month if you want me to give you some more feedback. I'm going with the OD Micarta. I think they are all 90$, but I'm not sure ho...

Re: Smock Knives SK23

image.jpeg The balance point is right where I feel it should be, I had thought about getting Kevin to do some milling on the inside for weight reduction, (the knife is on the heavy side for it's size) but I'm glad I didn't. It feels just right and that would just end up collecting dirt. As far as t...

Re: Mantra love ?

My Mantra is a fantastic, lightweight edc. I carry it a lot. It came smooth and has gotten even smoother. The only thing I didn't like so much was the clip, I switched it for a shorter dragonfly clip and it's perfect for me. This should be a huge hit, it tix all the fad boxes, M4 super steel, titani...

Re: Mantra love ?

I was about to order one, but I heard the scales scratch up really easy, os there any truth to that statment? I carry mine with my keys up beside it in my pocket, I was surprised that it still has no noticeable marks on it. I did the same with my sebenza and it looked like **** after one day! Lucki...

Re: Smock Knives SK23

In case anyone was wondering about the "diamond" shapes, they are from my tattoo. The dots from the "i's" in my boys names. An ambigram of my boys names, LiAM and REid. I love how the shapes are part of the backspacer and the scales!
