Re: Chris reeve sebenza vs hinderer xm-18
I've got a lrg insingo and a small drop point, (lefties). I find the small to be very comfortable to use, the large only since I ground a touch of material off the back end, spine side of the handle if that makes sense. It gave a wicked hot spot otherwise. I wear a large "mechanix" glove f...

Re: What's your most recently acquired grail/special to you Spydie?
It hasn't arrived yet, but my soon to be here PM2 Cruwear is as close to my Spyderco grail as I'm likely to get. Give it an extra 3/8ths or so of blade to fill the handle and make it a lefty compression lock and then it'd be my true Spyderco grail. ...or perhaps a Spyderco made Smock Knives SK23...

Re: Compare S30V to S35VN
Nothing scientific to back it but I find s30v takes a bit toothier edge. I prefer it that way. For my uses, it holds a working edge longer. S35vn sharpens a bit easier and can get real shiny very easy if that's what you're after. Again nothing scientific but my personal experience with both steels.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Yes, I got real lucky with the grain on mine. Overall it's a great knife, I did file the kick on the sheepsfoot and flattened the swedge too as it sat uncomfortably high and dug in. I carry it quite often now, did some carving with it this aftn.RanCoWeAla wrote:That Canal Street is a beautiful knife

Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
I use PayPal for most online purchases, its the only way I've paid for a knife online through KW, KSF, W&W, and a few others. None of them have mentioned an issue with PayPal to me. Nor do they charge crazy amount for shipping to Canada. I guess KC just doesn't want Canadian business. Probably j...

Re: Spyderco C81GPGY2 Paramilitary 2 CRU-WEAR
I've tried KC twice now. First time shipping came out to over $40 so I cancelled. This time for the CW PM2, all seemed good with their $9.95 to Canada but it wouldn't give me PayPal option so I entered money order and stated PayPal in comments. When they got back to me, after 2 emails, they directed...

Re: GB1 vs GB2 - Now that it's been out a while
I didn't mind the weight too much on my GB1, however the "extra" material bugged me so I removed it. image.jpeg She took a light patina slowly with no rust issues. My Mantra got some rust from carrying in pocket on a hot sweaty day before it had time to form a patina. I keep thinking I'll ...

Re: Brous Knives
My first Brous was the Silent Soldier Flipper.( best detent ever!) Then I picked up a Bionic 2.0 flipper. Both are great knives, excellent flippers, super ergonomic, and I guess the heat treat on his D2 is just right because it holds a great edge and sharpens super easy! I don't carry the SSF often ...

After the GB came out as nice as I feel it did, I made some more denim micarta. Still not quite as nice as on my Northwoods but I'm happy.

My wife's uncle swears by the stuff, I tried with no effect. I've found STP products to work with limited success.
