Sounds like a Temperance2. It’s just a bigger mule. The Jumpmaster2 also.
I prefer fixed blades in the 4 to 6 inch range. I use mules quite a bit but the shorter blade sometimes keeps me from grabbing one. The six to nine inch range has never worked well for me.

Re: Knife Laws are weird to me.
In the US it seems as though most people think the 2nd amendment is just talking about guns. I think it applies to everything and not just weapons. It should include all other gear needed like knives, body armor, night vision and communication equipment. It is so focused on firearms that in some pla...

Re: Still the best pocket knife Spyderco ever made
In this modern society we all live in if it is in the US or the EU carrying a knife publicly is never a thing you should do noticeable no matter the local laws. Carrying and using a knife in public needs to be thought over for every use these days. Like Chris reeves moto think twice , cut ones… Tha...

Re: Am I the only one…
Are you camping on a beach? Corrosion resistance is pretty low on my list of qualities in a camp knife. I have a couple stainless woods knives in steels like VG10 and 154CM and it’s nice to worry less but the truth is that I have never had issues with basic carbon steels while camping so any stainle...

Re: There'll be a Stretch XL lightweight in K390, right?.. RIGHT?!
I was gonna wait for the K390 version but I got a crazy deal on the VG10 version on Black Friday. I knew I would like it but I am surprised that it has taken over my rotation. It’s a perfect pocket knife. I will 100% buy a K390 variant.

Re: Carry: Tip Up / Down & Left / Right
I am right hand tip down but that is because I carry in my right rear pocket. If I carried in my right front pocket I might like tip up more. I have probably been carrying in my back pocket for twenty years now and it works for me. I used to work on cars a lot and moved it to my back pocket so I did...

I will wait for a sprint of the Military2. I also might enjoy my 15V Manix and pass on the 15V Shaman and Para2. I would not be able to resist a 15V Military!

Re: How Old Were You When You Began Carrying?
My father and my grandfather both carried Old Timer Stockmen. I got one and an Arkansas stone when I was about seven years old which was in 1985. I have carried a pocket knife everyday since then. I got really into SAKs after that.

I handled one and it had lock stick so bad that I couldn’t unlock it with both thumbs. I asked to see another and it was almost as bad. I had zero interest after that.

Re: The fillet knife I wish Spyderco had made!
I have multiple fillet knives but would like a premium knife. Bark River has one but it is rigid. Knives of Alaska has one that isn’t my style. White River also has some. Dexters are great and made sort of local to me but I want a high end fillet knife. I am sure Dexters competition like Victorinox ...

I had the app for a couple weeks and then deleted it. It didn’t offer any value for me. I guess I’m still not missing much.

Considering inflation is off the charts this year a significant increase seems inevitable. Oh well, it is what it is.

Re: Comm in January 2023 Blade Magazine about Spyderco.
Spyderco does have their own style. You cannot deny that there are a lot of similarities between all their in house designs. It’s that design philosophy and aesthetic that makes me like them. I don’t know why he is complianing about it though. Most designers have their own style. Most manufactures w...

We got two feet of heavy wet snow then a week later (yesterday) it was 40 degrees and we got three inches of rain. Between the rain and the snowmelt there was flash flooding all over. This morning it was -2 and it is a sheet of ice everywhere. What a mess!

Re: Your dedicated work/bench/money knife
I have kept an opinel no 9, a Mora Companion and a Swick 4 on my work bench for a few years now. I grew up on the North Shore and still visit often. I carry whatever I want and when I’m in Boston itself I just unclip it and drop it into my pocket. Salem has stupid laws too. I’m there quite often. Ev...

Re: Manix jimping poll
I have complained in the past about bidirectional texturing on fixed blades and in general have argued that a knife handle with good ergonomics doesn’t need texture. I pretty much feel the same way about jimping. If the ergos are on point then the jimping is superfluous. The Manix has a handle that ...
