Re: Location
Thought I'd replied to this thread before, appears not. When not spending time with grandkids, I'm fishing in St Augustine or Daytona, or Cedar Key (great oysters too) or I'm in the Keys fishing and diving. Home base is in the woods of north central Florida. This is a great forum.

Re: The Waterway Will Be Mine...
Must be nice to catch those out of a kayak. We usually have to run 15-20 miles for tuna. They just changed the regs in Florida almost makes it not worth going. Last time my wife and I went we caught a bunch'o nice footballs. All 5-7lbs. Great on the grill. Yes the Waterway works well. :) Thanks Lance.

Re: Lost knife
If you sat or laid down on a couch or back in a recliner look there. Over the years, I've lost my 3.5 twice, both times in the couch. First time it took a few weeks to find may have been good as I carried multiple Spydies during the period of mourning. :( Second time it was lost I called my daughter...

Re: Tell us about your Spyderco Knife of the Year 2019
Another year that makes the "Knife of the Year" pick really difficult. After reading the posts about the Caribbean and seeing the black dyed scales, I regret not getting one. Just couldn't get past the bumblebee look. Maybe at heart I'm a fixed blade fool, but I agree with others here. My ...

Re: What are you having for Thanksgiving?
Most of the people I know have used peanut oil for frying turkeys That’s why all the stores in our area stock the gallon and three gallon containers around the holidays. Works well for frying all seafood too.

Re: What are you having for Thanksgiving?
We've done the same for years, big bird, always with oyster stuffing. Mashed taters, gravy, green beans, squash casserole (onions, bacon, sour cream cream cheese and sharp American) homemade cranberry orange relish, cranberry nut bread, pecan pie (my wife makes the absolute best) and my son wanted a...

I really like the Taichung logo's, my favorite. Also seems they would help deter fakes.

Re: Hope for the Caly 3.5?
For me, the 3.5 is almost the perfect edc. IMO one of Sal's best designs. Please keep it thin, with scales that are easy on the pocket, and the wire clip. Also prefer a stainless steel. My zdp rusts very quickly around saltwater (same day) Would like to see a lightweight model as I already have othe...

Ditto.thewoodpecker wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2019 1:07 pmThe Stretch has the same blade length with longer grip area (sans choil) so if you're in need of a longer handle the Stretch might be the way to go. For me the ergos on the Caly 3.5 are perfect and it is tough to beat in terms of blade:handle ratio...even beats out the Kapara.

I'll likely buy this regardless of steel. Sure would be nice to know what steel will be used. Love my 3.5's, most carried knife.

Re: Discussion: What do you think is the best size for an EDC folder?
For me 3.5-4" is the "best" size for general edc. The Caly 3.5 is just right. (how do they get so much blade in there?) The Para and Millie also get a fair amount of carry time. A lightweight Caly 3.5 with LC would make my day.....please. :spyder:

Re: Delica 4 Glow-In-The-Dark FRN
Not going to lie this is a fun knife. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I had glow in the dark plastic stars on my ceiling. Makes me smile :) Funny you should say that, we left those same stars on the ceiling of my daughter's bedroom. Probably 20 + years old. Brings a smile when we look at them. :)

A lot of people prefer stainless blades. :) Generally less maintenance, especially if around saltwater.steelcity16 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2019 8:36 pmWhere are all of these 20CV votes coming from??

Re: Fillet Knife? Steel Types?
One of my favorite small fillet knives is the Havalon Baracuta Z. They are a 5" scalpel and yes, you can cut, or stab yourself easily with this knife. They sell these with the idea of changing the blade out, and at times it might be just what's needed. They stay VERY sharp for about a dozen fis...
