Re: End of 2020 Opinions on VG-10
I'm still very pro VG-10. It's tough enough for me to use in the kitchen, stainless enough for me to forget about it until the next morning, and takes a sharp enough edge in no time flat. I've run the gamete of super steels and my most used knives are all in either VG-10, 52100, or 1095. Have one in...

Re: Who Wants a High Carbon Native?
I want a high carbon anything. My 52100 PM2 has supplanted my Hap40 Caly3 as my EDC. I'd love any of those steels, but since the Native is a Golden knife it deserves 52100.

Re: Proto Dyad?
I know the seller from my Colorado swap meet and pawn shop days. I once saw him selling a knife I had passed on at a pawn shop as new and it most definitely was not. When I asked him about it he banned me from bidding on his auctions. Still banned, no regrets. Not trustworthy.

Second the Jot Singh Khalsa and my first ever spyderco, the Wenger in ATS-34. Man I miss that knife.

Re: What steel balances attributes best?
For me it's hap40. Gets sharp, stays sharp, cuts everything, and I haven't gotten it past a light gray even when I try to force a patina. Put it in a fixed blade so I can retire every other knife I own.

Re: How about a hypothetical?
Eric, no question. Sal would give me the knife he liked most at the moment. Eric would give me the knife that best fit my ergonomics and use. Just how they each design and get excited about knives.

Re: Research ENDURA Gen3
One particular auction site, the one that rhymes with Tree Day, has many older Enduras and Delicas pretty regularly. In fact, I'm likely going to pick one up myself.

Permanent, no. Seriously chipped edges that were annoying to sharpen out, yes.

Re: S35vn on the Tenacious...what does it mean?
Fit and finish are good enough for me on the Chinese Spyderco line. The big advantage here is the edge to handle ratio and the ergonomics, both of which are great. I'll be happy to pick one up in S35VN. To me, it's worth it over the ergos and shorter blade on the Native. And I have owned a lot of Na...

MULE TEAM™ 31 CPM® S45VN! More mules! Both Green Lc200N Pac Salt and Atlantic look awesome, and the blacked out manbug warnie will be mine. I guess that will be 4 knives on the Christmas list along with the new CBN benchstone. The Colorado PM2 looks really cool too! How did we go from MT28 (SPY27) ...

Re: Would you buy a Catcherman 2?
Absolutely. I had one of the USN toxic green Catchermen and I loved it. Would be in for a plain edge in a stainless steel. Honestly, I think this would be great in VG-10 for the kitchen or LC200N for a salt knife.

Re: BHQ Jade M4 Series Poll - What next???
So far they've picked mostly Golden made models for the Jade/M4 run, but they did do the Lum Tanto which is Seki made. They've also revived a few discontinued models, so why are we limiting ourselves to existing models when we can remake some of the greats!? Give me a Terzuola Starmate or a Phoenix,...
