I'd agree with brainfriction, I've had the best luck with using a Dremel and creating a flat head for a screwdriver to screw it out
Yeah, heating them up with a soldering iron first will help break them free too.

Re: Stripped screw tips?

If you have a dremel you can try cutting a slot for a flathead screwdriver... but chances are you won't be able to generate enough torque to break them free if you haven't already. Tbh, I'd just send it back to Spyderco and have them fix it, they're pretty good at getting out stripped screws. For fu...

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

All of my designs are to hold and use. I'v added some novelty in some of my designs, like the "Q". Sometimes I'll try to add an attractive handle like on the Chaparral. But in general, I'm all about high performance, Ergos, safety. That's why I've been accused of "deigning in the dar...

Re: How to tell if it’s a fake?

The one for $103 looks legit, at least the picture they are showing. Post a pic when you get it. Amazon uses the same stock photos everyone else uses. Those can't be used to tell if it's a fake. That's true, but it's a good start. At least they aren't showing a picture of an obvious dhgate replica....

Pretty sure you can just include a check for return shipping along with a note describing what's going on with the knife.

Anytime you find a new Spyderco for a ridiculously low price on Amazon or Ebay it's usually fake.

Re: Help me pick a Spydie flipper, please

For Spydie flippers I’ve got a Mantra, and Domino. The Domino is the better flipper of the two, not the best flipper I’ve got but very good action and outstanding F&F. I’m waiting for the Smock as I’ve got the custom SK23 and it is by far the best flipper I’ve got or ever tried. Lol, we posted ...

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?

I'd be all over a PM2 with 15V or Maxamet. It seems like every other knife I own is S30V, a change of pace would be nice.

Re: Help me pick a Spydie flipper, please

The only two I own are the Mantra and Domino. I really like the Domino, smooth, snappy action. The Domino got some bad press with stories about gritty and/or notchy action but it seems like that was remedied by Spyderco. Mine is as smooth as any of my ZT flippers after a little bit of break-in time.

Re: Lil' Native Comp Lock – some thoughts after over 3 months of EDC

It's a great little knife. The choil protrusion never bothered me either, I usually just use the tip of my fingernail if I flick it closed one handed although for some people it completely ruined the whole knife for them

Re: Why Don't You Like Framelocks?

Still, linerlocks and framelocks do put your fingers in way of the closing blade, so that's one more reason why comp locks are my favorite. I agree, comp locks are great. As far as liner locks, I prefer liner locks with either a choil or flipper tab as a buffer between my thumb and the blade. The D...

How would this even happen? During the mfg process or just from being made from bar stock with a slight curve in it?

These are very helpful answers, please keep more coming. What saddens me is that some of you point out that many people are not into knives. This is hard for me to understand having been into knives now since early childhood and having been taught respect of others and responsible tool use. Why is ...

Re: Fakes at Amazon

Yeah it sucks, but just got to keep reporting sellers like that to ebay and amazon, usually they'll get shut down if enough people complain. Problem is they just create a new account and keep peddling their junk.
