Re: Have you ever simply just NOT been able to remove a screw? Even when there's not thread locker?
loctites spec for threadlockers for the auto industry even blue is overkill for screws of this size and purple is what more called for. I agree, with a good set of tools you should be able to torque everything down good enough to where it won't back out, although I do like blue 243 loctite for pivo...

An old friend of mine wrote a semi-autobiographical memoir. The title always stuck with me, that feeling of being torn mentally.

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.
Ended up tearing it apart, polished the washers with mother's mag and added a drop of oil to the pivot and dialed in the action. Nice and smooth. At this point the only thing bugging me is the gosh darn clip

Re: The Drunken: Amazing Knife, Ruined by its Pocket Clip.
I've had mine a couple days now. Tbh, I immediately thought of returning it, but it's growing on me. The clip is pretty bad, no way around that. However, I think it could easily be solved by bending it for more clearance or an aftermarket clip. That should never be the case on a $410 knife. Aestheti...

I can't say with 100% certainty, but for the most part it looks legit to me. Afaik, the fakes don't include the pouch which is a good sign.

Re: Paramilitary 2, a delicate knife?
If you drop it or use it as a pry bar you'll probably snap the tip off. I've done it, not a big deal though. You can shape it similar to the Delica and re-sharpen and it's good to go.

Re: Dedicated Vehicle Emergency Knife
I keep a cheap $7.99 tactical mall ninja special in my glove box. The blade is serrated and sharp enough to slice through a seatbelt, and it has a glass breaker on the other end. I've thought about getting something nicer but I figure it will get the job done if needed.

Re: S110V Acid Wash?
Ferric chloride will etch s110v just fine. Make sure you clean it really well beforehand with hot water and dish soap, and then some acetone or isopropyl to remove any oil. Dip it in your ferric solution in 5 minute increments until you get your desired result. After that you can leave it as is, or ...

"Super Steel Scaremongering"
Tbh, I haven't really found any steels that I'd consider difficult to sharpen. I mainly stick with SiC, CBN, and diamond stones though.

I like 204p and XHP. Relatively easy to sharpen, takes a nice polish and screaming sharp edge.

Re: Para 3 Defect?
Any way you can post a picture of how this looks after you were done with it? I’m going to try this tonight. Sure :) The first step is to color the whole tang with black sharpie, then flick it open and close several times until the lock bar wears it off, it will leave a small mark at it's resting p...

Re: Let's Get Serious: G-10 Handles Are Just Hard To Beat For EDC uses
For the most part I'd agree. I tried micarta scales on my PM2 but ended up takin them off. I missed the solid grip and rigidity of of the g-10, the micarta sort of felt like cardboard after a while.

Interesting... guess that makes sense why I find s35vn easier to sharpen to a high polish than s30v.

PM2, Manix 2, Endura, and Military would all fit the bill and are some of the most popular models.
