Re: why has Spyderco not made an Auto Knife.
If Spyderco would make a auto knife and get into a movie as Microtech did with the John Wick movies, after his movies were out i found a picture of a three John Wick Microtech set that was the only one Microtech made, i asked Microtech if they were going to make another their answer was no ,they ma...

Re: why has Spyderco not made an Auto Knife.
The Sporting Goods store i worked at had been selling Auto Knives, to law enforcement only before our state made them legal.
After the law was changed and they were legal in our state i sold a lot of Microtech autos to many buyers.

Re: Cruwear vs. S35VN
CPM Cruwear has held an edge better than S35Vn for me. In a CATRA test, it's possible S35Vn is better, but real world use is a bit different sometimes. Also, I haven't used S35Vn from Spyderco because I have so much of it from other companies (obviously heat treat quality varies). CPM Cruwear is on...

Re: Cruwear vs. S35VN
Please explain why you no longer use the s35vn blade steel knife did this material fail in some way? If you're concerned about your new S35VN knife failing try not to overthink it. Use the knife as intended and it should serve you well. S35VN is plenty tough for general EDC use. I have several kniv...

Re: Cruwear vs. S35VN
I understand the details of the CRU wear steel. https://www.crucible.com/eselector/prodbyapp/tooldie/cruweart.html But have you yourself or someone you know of had a failure of a knife with s35vn steel used in it's blade. I didn’t say anything about “failure(s) of a knife.” I understand what you sa...

Re: Cruwear vs. S35VN
CPM Cru Wear is much tougher than S35VN. Regular Cruwear is a little harder to predict. Cru Wear also has a greater potential for hardness than S35VN. Wear resistance of S35VN is a little better. For our own use, we have a purpose built "Breaking machine" hooked up to a computer and camera. sal Are you willing to share more about this? Some of us are fascinated by such machines, testing protocols, and results. I understand if you aren't willing (not bashing inferior locks/manufact...

Re: Waiting for my new Spyderco Manix2 to arrive today.
Love that knife. Enjoy it. Mine came with a lock that was a little stiff but broke in nicely. Love all the jimping on that knife. Can’t tell which would be preferable when working with gloves, the manix or the pm2. Both great, hard use knives. Yes my Manix2 has a somewhat stiff feeling lock but am ...

Re: Waiting for my new Spyderco Manix2 to arrive today.
I've got one of these as well as a Sliverax and Kizer Gemini coming on Monday. Can't wait to test out the s110v steel. How are you liking your Manix? I am just getting used to handling it opening and closing it, just like i am doing with my new PM2, but so far i really like the new Manix2. Both the...

Re: These videos of knife locks failing.
Their specific test seemed pretty poor to me. They had no way of controlling the load, and it ramped up very fast. I'm sure there could be a huge variation in the actual load and what their gauge spiked to. Also they had no way of controlling how far up the handle it was pulling. 100 pounds a quart...

These videos of knife locks failing.
I have found BF produced videos of testing of the Spyderco MP2 the Manix and the Delic4 , being tested to their failure. Are these tests helpful? do they really give us real knife use information? in the BF produced videos using a truck winch this is the results produced. The MP2 lock failed at a li...

Re: Replacing the love of my life (PM2)
I think you owe it to yourself to try something new. The Manix2 is a great choice, and often compared to the PM2 in size and use. You can always sell it and get another PM2 if you don't like it. There is sure nothing that is wrong with that recommendation, i also have one of them great Manix2s. htt...
