To anyone thinking of getting a .22 suppressor... DO IT!!! I got an AAC element. Its noticeably quieter than all but a few other cans (kodiak, sparrow, spectre,tbac 22L-1)... The element is hard to take apart if you dont take it apart often (every ~500 rounds) and clean the tube. I dont really clean...

I think Cliff brought up some practical purposes where S30V could be expected to (at least) match S90V: Similarly, there are "lesser" steels than S30V which are nonetheless tougher, and which do better at lower edge angles -- for the same reasons that S30V might hold an advantage over S90...

I first commented on this thread as a means of damage control. Its amazing how willingly people believe what they read on the internet... Cliff isnt "wrong". He's just irresponsible to put numbers out like "an S30V dice goes from 4 to 16 and an S90V dice goes from 6 to 22". I don...

The toughness of the two steels are about the same while the wear resistance of s90v is much higher.

s90v is flat out a superior steel to s30v. Quit dodging that fact. The performance of the two steels do not overlap because Spyderco doesn't sell s90v at 55 rockwell...

Equal in what respect? I was referring to edge retention. I should have used the word "similar" instead of "equal".

At what hardnesses are s30v and s90v equal steels? 59 and 61? What is the highest hardness we have seen in s30v and what is the lowest hardness we have seen in s90v from Spyderco? How common is it to see s90v with a sub par heat treat?
