Re: 2016 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

I decided to photograph some knives that sparked my interest in Spyderco. The Triangle Sharpmaker and Duckfoot sharpeners made it easy to sharpen unique blade shapes and serrated edges. My Dodo Carbon Fiber, Cricket, Lil'Matriarch, P'Kal, and gray Endura with a gray clip I modified are good examples...

Not much. Soften the points on handle, and wire clip for a slightly lower carry.

Yes! I got a Lil'Matriarch (black FRN SE) about two months ago. It's been in my pocket everyday when off duty. I have carried it on duty few times, and the only reason I don't more often is because of the size. I just prefer something a little longer when working. A Matriarch 2 will probably be my n...

Just love this compact big cutter. Looks awsome too. Southard. Really enjoying this flipper. Ergonomics are outstanding. T...

The wood from this tree has been very tough to split. I noticed how the stump has changed to a greyish color as it weathered through the year. I have been carrying the Tuff whenever I am out in the yard. I thought the colors on the knife look nice next to the wood and snapped ...

Great pictures everyone. I think the Ulize is one of the best looking knives I own. I've had it for a few months and I've carried it quite a bit. I do have a criticism. When gripping the knife when it's open, I often feel like my pinky is extended too far. That is, the downward curve on the bottom o...

All you "tip down is safer" people out there, don't be so sure. This happened to me at work. I'm still baffled as to how the blade caught and opened this way, but I give you my word that this was 100% real and not made up. Somehow when I put the knife in my pocket after using it, the blad...

I love the Catcherman for fishing. The Moran drop point is excellent for hunting. I just recently got a Bushman for camping, but haven't gone yet. Phil Wilson is one of my favorite knives for working around the yard, and it will probably accompany me in the field and when camping, also. I've always ...

I got one for each of my 3 boys (ages 5, 7, 10) for Christmas. The 5 year old defeated his lock on the first day. But it still works really nice as a slipit. The other two are holding up well. This was a very cool idea by the Spyderco crew. The boys and I had fun building them. It gave the older 2 a...

Law enforcement may possess automatics, but they can only carry automatics while on duty. I'm not sure on possession for non-LE.. Carrying an auto by non-LE violates federal law, I believe. Each local and state law may have further limitations.

I agree with the Catcherman for fishing. For something all around outdoors, I like the Remote Release (discontinued), or a fixed blade.
