Re: Spyderco new FRN Lightweights: What do you think will be the best?
I hope to see a military lw, not because I imagine it'll be supremely lighter, but because maybe we can finally have a left hand and/or tip up option.

Re: A Spyderco SAK?? Why not??
Well, they do have the clipitool series. That might be as close as we get, and they're not half bad and have room to grow still too. I could dream of a collaboration with one of the established multitool makers though, they all seem to be trying to find a way to reinvigorate their sales anyway.

Re: Dyad II or New Concept Double Blade Folder?
I'm looking forward to this, been kicking around tracking one down for awhile (currently carry a serrated dfly as a secondary if I'm expecting that kind of work). I'm trying to envision the double compression lock or how to make a good grip and now I'm curious how close what I'm imagining is to the ...

Re: POLL: Possible new double blade folder: Would you like to see another version featuring a saw?
Hmm...most of the time if I want to saw I'd rather have a dedicated saw of some type, even at the expense of weight. Now if it could be interchangeable maybe. But that sounds expensive and small parts to lose, plus most tools or knives I've seen like that feel pretty gimmicky.

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
Why are the “reveal knives” Coming out before the ones that were already on the list? If anyone has an answer I would be interested to hear it. This may be a good question for sal to answer. My understanding from reading the updates. The reveals are the new system meant to announce things closer to...

Re: Extending the Para Family
Kind of weird and likely wouldn't be popular enough to pursue, but I'd be curious in hybrids, so a pm2 handle with para 3 blade or millie with pm2 etc.

Knives you didn't expect to like so much, or vice versa
For me it's the spyderco khukuri. I picked it up just because I thought turning a big chopper blade into a small pocket folder was such a neat idea, and it's pretty much become the main edc. I think I like how small it carries (have to check out a baby jess horn next I think). PM2 is the one I expec...

Re: Just bought a Golden Stone and.......
Honestly....I kind of like it more than the sharpmaker. Just so convenient. I'd be interested in a half width one, less convenient but would become very packable.

Spydiechef vs Kapara
Both designs draw inspiration from food prep, combined with edc characteristics. From a design standpoint (so ignoring material differences), which would you prefer for that kind of use?

Re: Spydercos you sold, only to purchase again?
Gb2.... Did some trading for a kapara, dropped it off and immediately doubted my decision. Definitely not for sale/trade!! Not impressed with the Kapara, or at least how it stands to the GB2? Obviously 2 totally different knives, just like to hear opinions as I'm soooooo close to pulling the trigge...

Re: "Best" Survival Foods?
Ration bars are great for shelter in place where there will likely be limited water (car, boat, storm shelter, bunker, etc). They are non thirst provoking and provide a lot of calories and vitamins for the size, and are pretty resilient in less than perfect storage conditions. However, they don't pr...

Sharpening of khukuri, s, hawkbills, etc
I've been having difficulty getting my khukuri sharp, are there any particular tips or tricks to the recurved part of the blade shape? I have been working with the sharpmaker on this one, and will admit it could simply be lack of practice (got spoiled by a we system) combined with over thinking and ...

Ugh, this damned thing again. I remember a couple years back a bunch of pictures/stories about how "It takes a team of surgeons to sew up, victims bleed out in minutes" hype going around and calls for it to be banned and how evil people are, and then there's lil ol me, just sitting back an...

Question for you friends, do you think there'd be much risk of accidental deployment if carried in the left pocket? Presuming the safety had been disengaged either intentionally or accidentally.

Re: What percent of your knife collection consists of users?
Guess it depends how you define user. Of my edc appropriate knives most get carried and used often enough, but I don't actually need to do much cutting anymore. The big ones and fixed blades rarely come out anymore, they been used but can't really call them users at this point. I wouldn't have somet...

Re: Part serrated
I know of two knives with that front serrations available, the victorinox one hand trekker combo edge and boker direkt. I'd be curious to see someone with a a full serrated spyderco knife spend a few days doing their typical se cutting with the front portion and seeing how it worked out. I imagine t...

Re: Friendly Challenge to fellow Spyderco Users: I say Endura and Delica 4 = Best and "Peak" Spyderco Model. What say y
As far as pure function for what a pocket knife should be used for, I'd agree. From that standpoint it's hard to argue that there is much functional benefit from a fancy handle material or even the compression lock/righty fidget device :p
