Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Best place to get Used spyderco's ? I'm on eBay and Bladeforums, anywhere elsedont worth looking for used Spydies. They don't have to be 'safe queens', just not totally stuffed - ie Serrrated Edges totally worn. Reddit has some good to great deals on many brands including Spyderco Knife_Swap. Also ...

Re: A question to Mr. Glesser about "the Maxamet situation"

If I’m not mistaken I think you can find the maxamet para3 but I haven’t really looked lately. Show me, cause I don't think so... Not sure about a Para 3 in Maxamet but Bento Box (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the full site address) has the Manix 2 LW in Maxamet right now. When I picked mine ...

Re: Autonomy 2

I pre-ordered as soon as the page went live. I've owned many Spydercos but this one will really be a first for me - my first auto. I'm really looking forward to this even though I'm left-handed (hint, Sal) ;) \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ Yes, I know it is cost-prohibitive to make a lefty version of every knife. S...

For a moment upon seeing the first picture, I thought it was a blade from a P'Kal in a different handle :)

Interesting idea. I may have to do something like this myself. I'd love to know the 30 day difference in feel between carrying, say, a Dragonfly and then a K2 :)

Sliverax and Santoku are inbound courtesy of a 20% off eBay coupon. Been looking for an excuse for the Sliverax for a while now. The Santoku was an impulse buy :)

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Selling stuff just got very complicated for me. My state passed a law that if I receive more than $600 through Paypal goods and services that they must send me a 1099. Absurd! I do not make money at this and it is not income. I refuse to pay income tax on my hobby! I used to sell on Ebay because I ...

Positron modification

I'd read about some owners issues with the Positron but when I found one at a very good price, I jumped on it, knowing I might have to do a little modification to make it suitable. When it arrived, I carried it for several days to get a real feel for it. I'm a lefty so the well-discussed issue of th...

Re: Para 3 exclusive at River's Edge Cutlery

Bummer.

I'll repeat my earlier point: to use a coating on the already-very-stainless 204P blade of a non-tactical knife is an opportunity lost. Plus, I'm not loving the color combo.

Still, the price point is very good...

Re: Interview with Knifemaker Phil Wilson about Performance Blades

Great stuff, Larrin. I particularly like the section where he (paraphrase) says there is no overall perfect knife, rather there are excellent choices for specific purposes. And this, "We have so many great steels now and as I work with them I find sometimes they are more alike than different. I...

Re: Para 3 exclusive at River's Edge Cutlery

I live about 5 miles from the shop. I originally heard about this about 4 months ago, though I was told it would be a PM2. I can say that you can bet on it being 204P or M390. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought the only practical reasons to coat a blade would be to inhibit corrosion/staining on...
