Re: Stretch 2 for hunting?
The Stretch was designed as a hunting knife. Depending on what you're processing it should work well. Squirrel might be too small, but for larger game like deer it would be suited.

Re: My First Military; Better than Expected
I know the lack of tip-up clip position is odd. However, with a handle that long you'd have to remove it from your pocket, reposition to get your thumb in the hole, then open. With tip-down carry the opener is more accessible from the start.

Re: Yard knife
I got a great deal on some Rescues the other day. So far I've used one to cut small vines and branches like a mad man. It's got plant gunk all over the blade and I'm not going to bother even cleaning it off. I'd recommend something in VG10 or H1 with a sheepsfoot, Wharncliffe, or hawkbill blade. The...

It's extremely easy to Rit dye the yellow FRN. Much easier (and cheaper) than purchasing two and swapping blades.

Two Rescues on the way and I have no idea of what to do with them. Too good of a deal to pass up, though.

Re: S30V or 204P for food prep?
Is the model in question available with TiCN coated S30V? That might come in handy out in the bush where you might not be able to perform a good cleaning right away.

Of the listed choices I, too, suggest the Delica. It's compact, light, and VG10 has decent corrosion resistance. That being said, have you considered a Salt 1 in Spyderedge?

There's usually a .380 riding right-front, and keys and wallet left-front. IWB doesn't play nice with my love handles. Top of left-front works well.ZrowsN1s wrote:On the left clipped horizontal in pocket

Re: Best lock for use in dirt?
I would not suggest a liner lock. Dirt can get packed between the lock leaf and the scale, making it very difficult to unlock. A Reeve lock would be better. The Manix 2 comes to mind as a good solution. The lock is centrally located, so dirt has a harder time working down from the top. However, it c...

Re: Native pocket clip
It's too bad there's not an option to use either clip. The knife could come with a wire clip but there would be three screw holes for replacing it with a standard clip.
