Wow, glad you weren't seriously injured with the knife poking out through the sheath. That is something I am even LESS confident about, is building my sheath, but I ordered both Kydex and Concealex (along with several different materials to try for the handles) and hope to fashion something workable...

According to the first post in this thread, the Mule's steel ( 9Cr18Mo ) reaches a HRc of 58-62 Does anyone have an idea how that might compare to other steels Spyderco uses? Man, you guys sure make it difficult to resist jumping online and ordering a caly3 or sage myself! But I have spent too much money already this month on knives, and since I did get a Forum Native, the blade shape wouldn't really give me much difference.
