Re: Shaman mini-skinny chop

After seeing the awesomeness of this and that other knife you did the mini-skinny chop to, I need to get an extra Amalgam and send it to you :D I've been wanting a sheepsfoot Amalgam so bad, and this would be a way to sort-of get one. I sent you DM. Thanks! I really wish there was some way that I c...

Just curious - how difficult was it grinding down the 20cv?
Mine is the S30V version, but I guess you figured that out! Super curious/scared to try grinding 20cv, but haven't given it a whirl yet!

Mini Smock Ti

Been super excited to do this mod, but been waiting for these ti scales from Reylight for almost 3 months (from China, virus, etc.). Contoured em, and stonewashed/oxi-darkened. New dimension: OAL 6.9:, blade 2.9:, handle 4". https://i.imgur.com/i9Ntoni.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ijVknKn.jpg https:...

Amazing job! 👍🏻

Although I’ve got to admit, the thought of having that done to one of my own knives gives me the heebie-jeebies. :o
Thanks James. This chop was especially scary to jump into!

Re: Shaman mini-skinny chop

Great option for when one wants to / has to /needs to carry a small knife imho. Thanks so much Wartstein, much appreciated man! Nice work! Do you have a photo to share of it closed? And maybe one where the liners exit the butt end? I can kinda see that obliquely on the first shot, but curious how i...

Re: Shaman mini-skinny chop

Blasphemy I say. Yeah man,I gotta agree- the Shaman is such a great design, and it is a crime to mess w/ her (guilty)! What do you do with those blade tips? You must have enough to make a mean Macuahuitl! :D Thanks man, I gotta go that route, those look epic! Here's a pic of the 'chop graveyard': h...

What's the plan for the Kapara?
Hey TurboDad, I'm planning on chopping the Kapara down to about 7" OAL. Redrill for a traditional 3 hole clip, and put a Lynch clip on it, and take the scale contouring a bit further.

Re: Rock Lobster 'mini-skinny' chop

The refinishing to match would be tough...or would you totally refinish the scales? Ti is no joke to work. When I've chopped Ti handles, I always do the same to refinish - diy stonewash (tupperware w/ rocks in the ole clothes drier), then use oxi-clean to darken it up. As far as the clip, I'll be r...

Could you include some pics with the blade closed? And curious - was the original plan for picture 3, but then you kept shaping and ended up with picture 4? Thanks for the kind words everyone, much appreciated! Do you have a pic of the end so I can see what it looks like where the liners were cut? Here's a pic that kind of shows. I just sent this back to the customer who commissioned it, otherwise I'd take a better one! https://i.imgur.com/YTCDRbR.jpg
