Got wind a while back that this model was a sprint for Bento Box Shop. I got on BBS's list and had the knife within a week at a fair price. Nice steel that has developed a very mild patina that I rather like.

The Logic of Our Acquisitions

Glad am I that Sal has said no one is going to buy every knife Spyderco produces. I certainly can't afford to, so I have done some thinking about what has caught my eye since I began to acquire Sypdies in February. I discover that I prefer (over the many alternatives): Leaf/spear points Plain edge F...

You did make me look! After all, what issues could there be with this wonderful knife? It's back in my right-front pocket after sitting out a week while I EDCed my new Manix 2. Unlike the Manix 2's aggressive jimping along the back, which I really like in the hand, the Sage 3's closed back is friend...

Actually, it did turn up on the second of 20 pages. My bad.

I seem to have barked up the same tree in a different way.

Curious about blade logo

Am I imagining things or do Spyderco's factories apply logos to the blade in different ways? Golden (source of my Paramilitary 2 and just-arrived Manix 2) and Seki-City (source of my Dragonfly) seem much alike. The logo, metallic in appearance, seems to be level with the surface of the CPM S30V, CPM...

Mine shipped from California 23 April and arrived New Hampshire today, 25 April. The only thing that exceeds my admiration of Bento Box Shop/USPS efficiency is my admiration of the Manix 2's design, fit and finish. I'll give my fantastic Sage 3 a bit of a rest.

Joe has it nice and clear. Thanks, Joe. wrdwrght, might be a good idea to edit your post a bit, its as devisive as your making others out to be. We've got many different politics and beliefs here, but its a very friendly forum and we leave that stuff at the door (usually). And Welcome! :) I take yo...

I'd just rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Could not agree more. "Be prepared" is a motto I still hold dear. My comments about "tactical" and "survivalist" were meant merely to distinguish me from people who live their lives fearing the worst...

New to Spyderco, I have acquired in quick succession a Tenacious, a Dragonfly 1, a Sage 3 and a Para-Military 2. I EDC the Sage 3. In addition to its sky-blue scales and its fit and finish, I admire the Sage 3's resemblance to points in the Clovis tradition of Paleoamerica. I do have my eye on the i...

There are a number of dealers that have a formal pre-order system. KnifeCenter, Cutlery Shoppe, KnifeWorks, and Howes Knife Shop come to mind, but I'm sure there are others as well. I have a hunch that most dealers who do not advertise pre-orders would probably be willing to reserve a knife for a r...

I've had my Sage 3 for a few weeks and, just because I like the feel of a knife in my hand (need I explain in this forum?!), have gone through binges of opening and closing it. I'd say the bolt is now marginally stiffer, even after a drop of oil, just at the start of its release. Where I think the t...
