Re: Military Sprint Runs No More?

Venting on changes in what Spyderco offers seems to me to miss the point of what Spyderco has been since its beginning. Do I miss the graceful curves of the Stretch? Sure! Oh, wait! I do have several of them (but not as many as BRJ has Military Models!). Any one of my Stretches could be my only Spyd...

Re: Tanto blades

I would not steer anyone away from Spyderco’s Tanto folders, whether the Bob Lum model or the PM2 version, each fine in its own way. Having both, I would, however, forewarn that these well-made EDC models bring with them a feature from Katana swords that are their inspiration. This feature allows a ...

Wall Street is building houses and AirBNB is renting them. I can’t imagine why things are getting more and more out of reach for more and more people. /s

Re: Different knife different day, or one knife for life?

I’m not in either camp. One knife for life, in view of the decades Spyderco has offered delicious varieties of models, is just cutting off my nose to spite my face. And to soften any compulsion I might have to cycle my 100+ unique Spydie models one day to the next, I let my unbidden curiosity lead ...

Bolster I wrote down some emotions I was feeling. I mean what better to graphically represent than emotions right. I noticed there was a point where things escalated. https://i.postimg.cc/7YDyjG0B/PXL-20231222-121350290.jpg However great that thread was, this has to be your best post! Bolster was r...

Re: Love of the Nub

“In for a penny, in for a pound”, I prefer a nub on a finger-choil, especially when the finger-choil is not jimped and a sharpening-choil sits just beyond.

... ...Spent 2023 trying to like the PM2 and Native 5, and it turns I do not lol.... :exploding-head ... that's a bold approach: You actually bought 7 (!) PM2s and 3 Native 5s just for "trying to like" these models (and then you even did not..)?! No critique, just a question: Why not just...

Re: Chinook 5?

Having just acquired my OG Chinook grail this week, and a Chinook4 last year, I’m really curious to know what a Chinook5 will feature, hence this bump. Have detailed Glesser-Keating talks actually proceeded such that a prototype has actually been presented at a show? I’ve heard not even a rumor. If ...

I have voted “Forward” but only because the Bodacious has all my attention at the moment.

Honestly, though, all the many Spydies I have with kicks, choils and other I like more than enough to keep.

A Different Bi-Directional FRN

My recent acquisition of a Chaparral5 and a Maxamet Sage5 has made me aware of FRN scales with a Bi-Directional Texturing that is not typical of Seki models. https://i.postimg.cc/wv2cJFCh/IMG-0148.jpg I’m often slow to the party. Who knows the future and reasons for this design, which is so satisfyi...

Personally, I would’ve preferred a blade length of 2.99” and a blade thickness of 0.1” for EDC.
Personally, I am sick of small knives. Spyderco has way, way too many pea shooter blades.

Quit downsizing everything.
Maybe Spyderco is not for you?
