Re: Anyone here with a recent pacemaker?

Having to deal with stage 4 cancer for the last couple of years I can say that if you have a good cardiologist who has your best interests in mind, go with what she says.

I’ve fired a couple of oncologists along the way. Probably be dead now if I hadn’t.

Best of fortune and fortitude to you.

Re: Unpopular opinions

My most unpopular opinion.. brace yourselves now.. People who carry knives daily, but only cut apples and open letters are "users" too! There, I said it! I’ve had a knife in my pocket every day for over a decade. In a given day, I may open mail/packages, cut up an apple at work, cut a loo...

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

Or, put another way, you walk up to the Spyderco table at the annual Cut & Slice show. The man behind the table looks somehow familiar. He says “it’s your lucky day. Here,” he says gesturing at five identical knives on the table, “ You are our 1000th visitor. You get to pick out and take home on...

Re: Unpopular opinions

If a clip works in-pocket and in-use, it’s fine by me. I think generally wire works better. People who trash S30V are steel snobs. If you miss out on an exclusive or sprint, and don’t want to pay market price, then move on, nothing to see here. My main carry knives are a Lil’ Lum and a Schempp Bowie...

Re: Spyderco Lock Type Preference

I fixed the poll. I think I wrote the pOst around midnight last night.
My intent is to get to why you prefer one lock over the others. More information that way than just saying “I love the [insert lock type here].

Spyderco Lock Type Preference

** I omitted the back lock. Fixed. ** Note that I said “preference”, not best, strongest or any of that. You may of course state the reason or reasons for your preference. To remove other factors, consider only one knife offered with those four lock types shown in the poll, like a Para 2, or Delica....

Re: Gayle Bradley

I never had a problem with my GB2. The edge of my thumbnail naturally came up against the lock bar and all I had to do was push. Much like my Schempp Bowie.

Re: Discontinued List 2021 Speculation Thread

I have never understood why some think the back lock is superior to the compression lock, or why they just bash the compression lock. Although I have nothing against a back lock, and focus in the knife rather than which lock it has, I think the compression lock has more advantages than the others an...

Re: Anyone else Aeropress coffee?

Well, I had bin my Aeropress today. I’ve had it for a long time, used it consistently and for some reason put it away in the cupboard. We have been using a Hario in the meantime. Over the last week I have cleaned, re-cleaned and used my aeropress consistently, cleaning between each use. However it a...

Re: Something I do not understand about the Chaparral

I have had the Chaparrals apart to fix the tension issue and that so called spring may “weaken” if flexed enough over time but the amount of flex is very small and that steel piece is very thick and strong. So yes, I do understand metal fatigue but the amount over time (rate) is what’s in question h...
