Re: PM2 extreme lock stick
I have approx 20-30 PM2 and Para 3 Spydercos. Only one had slight lock stick,,, all of the others are excellent. I like the CRK suggestion which is to lubricate the lock bar interface to reduce the galling interface. A small amount of grease and the lock stick wears in smoothly to be very slight. Fl...

Re: PM2 extreme lock stick
I agree,,, the "Spydie Flick" or "Power Snap" opening is borderline abuse of the knife. Watch most YouTube posters as they ramble on and constantly Power Snap the blades open and flip it closed with force,,,, it is not a fidget toy. I am amazed how well the Spyderco compression l...

Re: Anything new planned for the Military?
Please Spyderco, do not change anything on the existing CQI Military.
It is a classic and only needs new steel to resurge sales.

Re: Knife Joy 20CV Delica drops today
Mine arrived today.
Seki-City did a fantastic edge on this knife.
Excellent crisp apex, well centered with smooth action.
Every detail as good as the Endura CPM 20CV.

FK

Re: Can someone help me find a Military?
Woodpuppy, One additional CQI improvement. 4. Scale screws now T8, early models had T6. Forgot one more: 5. No plastic back spacer, open back construction like the PM2 and Para 3 I have both CQI and pre models, function is excellent with both, the CQI just feels smoother and crisp when open/closing....

Re: endela scales
It is very entertaining to watch Nick dis/reassemble knives,,,, he stumbles, mumbles and fumbles making dumb comments throughout blaming the manuf. design for his feeble attempts. Back lock design, I prefer the lock bar last, on some Spyderco knives I use a small C-clamp with padded jaws to compress...

Delica and Endura, carry both daily, in addition the favorite Stretch.
When I switch off to PM2, Para 3 or Military, which I have a large collection,,,,, the change back to Delica, Endura and Stretch is much more comfortable.

FK

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Smart phone cameras,,, I have the Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G. The retail price is outrageous however, I was offered a ridiculous trade in for my S10+. The photos are excellent, macro is best with a small tripod to hold the phone steady. Of course it does not compare to my Nikon D850 and D800e. Regards...

Re: A ''big'' question and challenge for Sal and Spyderco
Why do you think the thickness behind the edge could only be changed (reduced) if the whole bladestock thickness would change? Regardless to what degree the knife is sharpened/reprofiled (on the actual edge), I can still reduce the thickness behind that edge, right? If the manuf. designs the apex o...

Re: A ''big'' question and challenge for Sal and Spyderco
I agree, the old time slip joint pocket knives were much thinner stock and thin BTE, liked everything about them except some had break your fingernails to open and sloppy week springs in others. These knives were relatively soft HRc compared to Spyderco and very easy the thin out BTE, which I did qu...

Re: A ''big'' question and challenge for Sal and Spyderco
Fairly easy to modify the behind the edge thickness. Lay the knife flat on a stone,,,, raise the spine about 2-3 degrees and grind away. The kitchen knife guys call this "thinning a knife" to make it slice better, many do this before sharpening as a routine to avoid thickening behind the e...

Re: Small upscale serrated folder
In the 1990's I passed on several of these SE C27 Jess Horn Spyderco knives. Was not into serrated edge knives at the time. Never found a plain edge for sale. https://youtu.be/iHayj2dd2xI http://www.cuttingedge.com/knife/klc09335_c27_jess_horn_lockback https://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C27_...

Re: Spyderco Military in S110V question?
I have four pre CQI Military knives in my collection, they are not as crisp to open/close as the newer CQI models. The CQI design is just smoother to operate, is it a deal breaker,,,, not at all, the older Cruwear, CTS-XPH and CPM 440V blades work fine. They have to be operated side by side to tell ...

Re: When the virtually inevitable Paramilitary 2 LW drops...
I cannot remember how many PM2 versions I have,,, would never purchase a PM2 LW due to the problems with the present Para 3 LW.
Spyderco engineering really dropped the ball with the Para 3 LW,,,, they should have asked Seki-City for their input on FRN design.

FK

Re: Dear owners of Spyderco s90v knives
Your friend for sharpening S90V and S110V is a decent quality eye loop or better yet, the inexpensive digital microscope with USB connection to your computer (50x-250)
For these steels, I use Diamond or CBN stones and leather with same to strop.

Re: SCRACHES on ZDP-189
I believe the very first Spyderco ZDP-189 blades were laminated, this is steel stock from the kitchen knife industry. Later they were all solid ZDP-189 steel. Some of the early laminated FRN scales were blue in color,,,, later changed to dark green. I marked my first solid ZDP-189 Delica on a diamon...
