Here in Southern Indiana they are a "shoot-on-sight" animal. I shoot every one I see on the farm, a real nuisance for farmers and pet owners alike.

If you want to try slack-belt sharpening then get a Harbor Freight 1x30 and a few good belts from Hand American and go to it.

As for that toy, I have heard several folks complain about consistency of results, belt availability and the plastic jigs get ate up quickly.

I have never gotten how folks have so much trouble sharpening S30V, I have actually been given knives because the owner could not get it sharp. What is the issue ya'll are having?

I own 5 of them and have converted 3 to tip-up, I have no trouble drawing and opening them at all. One of my favorite blades and one of the only liner locks I will carry.(the others being a BM 975 and an Emerson CQC-8)

Hmmm, most folks I know (including me) who use their knives all day long on a farm or in a factory almost exclusively prefer G-10. Ever tried gutting and dressing a deer or wild hog with an FRN knife....not fun. Slippery and dangerous. Chipping is a non-issue, watch what and how you cut things and l...

1) Tacky aluminum? Never had a slipping problem, always has good grip AND it'll beat g10 in strength, as well as being 2.9 ounces compared to the para's 3.7 ounces. In usability G-10 wins, try using your 940 in sub-zero weather or in 115 degree heat without gloves. 2) Even though it is a bigger bla...

Personally i've never understood how people break laces. There's a guy at work who complains about it too. I've got some 10 year old Redwings on the original laces. You may wanna try paracord. +1 Paracord or leather works for me. Use them in 4 different workboots-no problems in years. OldHoosier

SnowCrash, What exactly do you use your knives for...opening mail?..breaking down boxes?..food prep?..whittling?..???? The reason I ask is that you dislike the Para with its very solid compression lock, but praise on 2 other knives which use weaker, less positive back locks. I like and trust my Endur...

Check out Bill Bagwell's bowie knives and his collaborations with Ontario, not really dual use knives as they are oriented to knife fighting.

Hello all....

Been here a few time to answer questions in the past but I am now medically retired so I thought I'd join in the fun. :) I own quite a few knives, probably 60% Spyderco with a few Kershaw,Lone Wolf,Shun,Victorinox,Opinel,Blackjack and others thrown in for balance. Not a "pretty" knife guy-...
