Re: Do you keep your Spyderco boxes?
I hang on to them in case I want to sell the knife later. Haven't sold any yet though.

Re: Left handed
I can deal with right handed frame and liner locks, but occluded Spyderholes mean I won't buy the knife. That's saved me a lot of money.

Original Poster here again. Sal, I can't thank you enough for the favor of a reply! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that! I also want to extend my appreciation to those who sympathized and understood my frustration. As for some of the responses I've received I find it interesting that replyi...

Did you use a quality Torx driver like Wiha brand? I've never had an issue when using a Wiha driver.

Re: Cleaning & Maintenance of Spyderco Ceramic Sharpening Stones?
I use BKF and a sponge or rag. Make a paste, scrub lightly, wash it off. Bar Keeper's Friend is an amazing product for cleaning a polishing metal. If they ever come up with a product that beats BKF I will switch to it immediately. I'm always looking for something better. But it's been well over 15 ...

Re: Let's get hyped for the Amalgam!
I'd buy one in a lefty version. I can't do right-handed compression locks. My friend is a lefty and there is only one (I think) left hand compression knife and it the s30v PM2 and he loves it. But, he is frustrated that's all. Especially when he sees the variety of PM2s out there. I own that one an...

Re: Sharpening with or without microbevel.
I sharpen freehand, but have always followed the advice of the person who taught me 66 years ago and increased the angle between the blade and the stone "a bit" for the last stroke or two on each side. Don't know if that counts as a microbevel or not, don't really care either. That's exac...

Fixed blade.
Other than that, who knows. Without precise, controlled testing for specific scenarios there's no way to know.

Re: How did ZDP189 go from a stainless steel to carbon steel?
For the same reason that S30V went from premium to garbage steel that chips on everything. People repeat incorrect statements until it's the new normal.

Re: Overturning of Knife Restrictions
Anyone can buy a 10 inch chefs knife at Walmart. Seems incredibly silly to ban pocketknives when the more dangerous item has no restrictions at all.
