Re: Sliverax question

I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm really impressed by the flipping action of Southard's smaller Positron, but would like a larger blade for days that I'm not in the office. Should I look at the Southard or Sliverax? I think I'd be happy with either, but can't decide!

Re: First Knife of 2018

My first Spyderco of 2018 will most likely be the Orange Spyderhawk Salt, whenever my preorder goes through. If that preorder takes too long, I may end up picking up a Para 2, Native 5 or Sliverax first. In the meantime I bought a Leek & a Skyline (both discounted blems) to add some low-cost alt...

Re: Para3

I ordered a partial-serrated Para 3 S30v for my brother as a gift, and he absolutely loves it. I couldn't find a Paramilitary 2 partial-serrated, so I settled on the Para 3. Honestly, I don't feel like it was much of a compromise going with the smaller knife. It really feels like it can handle anyth...

Re: Spyderco Taichung Taiwan Knife question

... may as well have been made on the moon . If you're hundreds or thousands of miles away, does it really matter if the jobs your purchase helps support are in Golden or Seki, Taichung or Maniago? It sure doesn't to me. I have about as much of a community tie to the people of Golden as I do to the...

Re: Official 2018 Catalog Discussion

I was trying to decide which H1 Serrated folder to order (Pacific, Assist, Tasman) with the $15 off eBay coupon when I received Knife Center's 2018 email. Turns out an Orange Spyderhawk Salt is EXACTLY what I wanted! Already preordered - now it's time for the waiting game!

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Quick update: I've carried the CF Positron the last few days at work and hardly realize it's there. I've used it to cut some shipping wrap and cardboard in the warehouse and this thing slices everything so much quicker than the heavy Leatermann Wave I used to carry. Flips open every time, and I can ...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

My CF Positron came in today, and I'm pretty happy with it. My brother and I both managed to flip it open on the first try, though there's definitely a little trick to get it right. I think the scales look classy and understated for business casual carry, and I like the slight curvature of the thick...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

My positrons already showed up from KC today! I got one of each style. It's interesting how different they are. The orange has a satin finish where you can see the grind lines (which I like) and the jimping is sharp enough to provide good grip, the spyder hole is a bit sharp as well but the flipper...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

I also just ordered a CF Positron from KC. I figured the carbon fiber will make for a nice gentleman's EDC at the office without chewing up my slacks. Worst case scenario, I may give it to my brother as a gift.

Would it be possible to drill out the pins, disassemble, and then install the engraved scales on a new donor Delica?

New member here, hi everyone! Short version: I have a few on the way: A Para 3 combo blade, a Ladybug Tattoo, a Tasman Salt serrated, a UK Penknife combo blade, and a Tenacious with camo scales & black plain edge blade. The Para 3 will be for me, while the rest will be gifts (with more to come a...

Re: Spyderco Knock-offs, "Replicas"and Fakes

Hi all, new member here looking at buying my first Spyderco. Getting married soon, and I want to get my groomsmen quality knives as gifts for being in the wedding. I found a Para 2 on eBay that looks good, but I'm no expert. Other than the clip (which the seller claims to have swapped out for black)...
