Re: what's best back pocket knife for doing stupid things?
I don't think it exactly fits the criteria you stated, but for sub $40 you need a bow river.

Re: Any interest in more Phil Wilson collaboration?
Mine is K390, which is a steel that Spyderco uses, and that's not widely used in fixed blades, so it might be a good fit to make the collaboration sell (but at a higher price point). CPM 154 might be a good option for a lower price point. Or even s30v, which Phil seems to have giving his blessing t...

Classics that Sal brings back better than the original are always worth the wait. My Superblue Caly Jr is in my pocket right now because we nagged him enough.

Re: Would you buy a Catcherman 2?
No...they would most likely retail for around $169 and that would be too much for me to spend on a fish knife. What leads you to believe it would cost $55 more than a similarly sized police 4? ....the Police4 has a VG-10 blade. H1 or LC200N, and the cost of an FRN mould will surely add on costs. If...

Re: Would you buy a Catcherman 2?
You know I'm on board with this I know USN had their sprint, but in my opinion it wasn't indicative of those true AFIs who love slicey knives. I know JD has his opinion and we mostly agree, but what I want to see is not the Saber ground models of days past. I want to see the FFG models revitalized w...

Re: How do you carry your knives and why?
My carry varies just slightly with the knives I choose for the day. For instance, I usually carry my primary blade on my right side. Pocket location varries with said pants/shorts. At work, I have a mid thigh pocket on both the left and right side. Like most, my go to location is the rear edge of my...

Re: Shop / garage / beater knife.
I worked with a guy once who I thought was a bit crazy, but had some wisdom to his logic about many topics. Knives and more specifically beater, cheap, disposable knives was one of those topics we discussed often. He was the reason I purchased a folding razorblade knife (off the Snap-On truck ironic...

Re: Any interest in more Phil Wilson collaboration?
I would love to see a Spyderco version of the Smoke Creek. It could be full or partial tang with G-10 or Micarta handles and though some made a joke earlier, I would be fine with VG-10. Honestly, to stay true to Phil's work I think it should be a steel he uses though. CPM154 is still my pick to stay...

Re: Spyderco kitchen knives?
Wow! Thank you so much! The photos really helped. You gave me a lot of options. I will probably start with a big knife and a small knife then add more. Now I will need to decide which two to get first. Not that it makes your choice easier, but I have always found CTS-BD1N to be a great all around s...

MacLaren mentioned "all day every day", this trusty companion is always riding in the pocket regardless of what Spydie is clipped to my pocket or waistband. Not an heirloom, but perhaps one day my son will read my posts and know how much this knife meant to me. https://64.media.tumblr.com/...

Sorting them in order seems impossible so these three are almost interchangeable.
Superblue
Cruwear
K390
Edit: just touched up my Superblue knives this evening and was reminded why I love it so much. It definitely holds the #1 spot for me. That still leaves Cruwear and K390 in a tie for 2nd.

Re: knives that deserve an upgrade
Sliverax - this knife is already pretty slick but it's ripe for sprint options. It can work just as well as a user as it does a gent's knife. I think this one would have been really extra cool in the jade/M4 combo. Caribbean - because I'm a broken record and I can't make a post without mentioning t...
