Re: The Show youre manixes thread.

I finally added a Manix and Mini Manix to my collection to go with my Manix 2 backlock. I love seeing the evolution of the Manix line and the Manix 2 backlock was the most apple-to-apple way to compare the original series with the 2 series. Spyderco have really refined their Golden backlocks to an i...

Re: Pochi anticipation thread

This is such a quirky and adorable design. I'm definitely picking one of these up. Been wanting one since I first saw the custom.

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

That is a good point and makes sense when you put it that way. I certainly hope that's the case! This is my first experience with microbeveling, and I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was to sharpen the microbevel. This feels like it could be a game changer for my sharpening process.

Re: Community Sharpening Journal

I keep unintentionally lowering the edge angle as I freehand, so I decided to try to do it intentionally and consistently. Freehanded on DMT "Fine" to reprofile, then went through DMT Extra Fine and Extra Extra Fine, then to Spyderco ceramic in Medium, Fine, and Ultrafine. I probably didn'...

I'm not sure whether this was from the GIN-1/G-2 era or shortly thereafter, but I feel lucky to have been able to recently add this to my collection all the same. IMG_20200518_132644-01_compress71.jpg IMG_20200518_132755-01_compress0.jpg Gin1 for sure. Awesome, thanks for confirming. Sal men...

Re: Gone too Soon - Manix Backlock Deserves a 2nd Chance!

I absolutely love the Manix Backlock. The backlock Manix 2 and the CBBL 154cm/S90V version are my two favorite iterations of the Manix. The backlock just feels so refined. It's so silly smooth, and the lockup feels so solid. Plus the jimping is done so cleanly that the only ways I can tell where the...

Verifying Worker authenticity (pic heavy)

I'm hoping someone with knowledge of Spyderco history can help me here. I recently purchased a used Worker and was admittedly trigger happy when I did so, as I let the prospect of snagging a vintage Spyderco get the better of my senses. Afterwards, I did some digging around on Spydiewiki to see what...

Re: Spyderco Smock:Technical Showcase, Disappointing Knife

I only wish I had tried the regular Smock prior to the release of the 20CV exclusive. I didn't jump on the exclusive at that point because I hadn't had serious hands-on time with the Smock, but now I have and I now know I like it enough to want the 20CV version. That smooth G10 looks gorgeous too.

Re: Spyderco Smock:Technical Showcase, Disappointing Knife

The Smock is an interesting piece for sure. I just got one last Friday to further my goal of collecting all the Spyderco compression lock flippers. The button actuated compression lock and the unobtrusive flipper are both great features, and they make for a superbly "fidgety" knife. The ch...

I've been waiting for the Pochi ever since I first saw it. It's such a dang cute little knife. And the Swayback looks like a homerun. And the SpyOpera looks beautiful. And the Canis is so interesting. And the Yojumbo is officially revealed too! And a Spy27 Mule? I thought the Mule program was discon...

if this glass were to break, I wouldn’t be all that upset ;) sure it wouldn’t be ideal, but I’d have an LC200N lil native blade.

Are they heat treated?
I doubt they'd heat treat these given their use in a glass. But I could be wrong.

Would be nice to get a Lil Native in LC200N to go with this rocks glass. I plan to use this more generally around the office. Nobody will mix up their glass for mine now!

I have the 302 and like it quite a lot as a finishing stone. I've been eyeing the 306 myself for blades with longer flats.
