Re: Has the S110V UKPK gotten CQI?
I don't have a BD1N with which to compare, but it is radically better than the Gin-1 models I own. The action is not mushy like the older version. It's a very satisfying action to me, with a much more pronounced half stop and crisp "lock up."

Re: Caribbean Troubles
To elaborate on the play I’m experiencing, it’s the scale on the compression lock side that is wiggling around. Maybe it’s more of a liner/scale nesting issue than a pivot screw isn’t tight enough issue, though I didn’t notice it before I took the knife apart. It’s not critical but it makes the kni...

Re: SpyderSaw
Something like this would be nice for handling smaller limbs (<1") when camping and hiking. Basically, it would be a SAK saw on steriods. I know a Silky is more ideal, but their thick handles make the awkward to carry when casually hiking (i.e. without a pack). For less than 1" most peopl...

Re: T8 clip screws
.... I'd even advocate for spyderco going up a size across the board. Making existing T6's T8's and making existing T8's T10's. It's never a bad thing to add more longevity to your parts. Especially when spyderco doesn't like sending out screws... They actually do send out screws. Two times clip sc...

I prefer CaRIBbean. It seems to better fit the beauty of the area.

Re: Sanding or reshaping FRN?
Will sander make the sanding any easier or it makes no sense getting one? A sander would probably melt the FRN at best, and take off too much material at worst. It's best to go slow and just shave off a little at a time by hand. That way, the FRN should remain intact and you can dial in the fit.

Re: Question about Spyderco Salsa Knife
That doesn't seem right, but I've never used a Salsa. Compression locks should allow a smooth close. It may be that the lock leaf was over bent and the flat edge of the ricasso is running into the detent ball.

Re: Several Questions
All the holes in the trainers are to account for lack of bevels, which would normally shed some weight compared to a plain slab of steel. You can see the method used in fixed blades where extra holes are drilled out in the tang to account for the bevels as well as any scales that may be added. It's ...

Re: How to cancel account?
. I am choosing to leave the forum because although its an excellent overall forum filled with wonderful and knowledgable folks there is one member, who has an extremely divisive political tagline. Would you elect to total your car because you may see a bumper sticker with which you do not agree?

For modern folders it's Spyderco all the way for me. However, I also purchase GEC and SAKs now and again.

They were made that way by Spyderco, as far as I know. They are listed on the website as a genuine Spyderco product.

It'll work on stock scales. If the backspacer on your custom scales match the stock one I don't see why it wouldn't work.
