Re: OFFICIAL 2016 Discontinued List

Sad day to see the Caly 3 phased out. I hope Sal and Co. have plans for a Caly 4 in the not-too-distant future.

Might need to pick up a Schempp Rock...

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2015 report of upcoming Spyderco prototypes

I've been lusting after a flipper for some time but have not seen one that really calls to me - the Ion changes that. I hope the price doesn't hurt the wallet too much as I'm really eager to pick one up. :)

Thx for all the photos, reports and hard-work again, Wouter. :D

Re: The real Mastiff

Sorry to hear about your loss, Joe. I remember when my mom had to put down the dog I grew up with (a Maltipoo) while I was away at college - broke me up. Finn sounded like a great companion and I'm glad your last moments were pleasant. Your son has far more control of his emotions than I could ever ...

Re: Kidney Stones?

I know I'm late to this thread but I'm glad everything worked out for you, Paladin. I had a urinary tract infection as a kid and wouldn't dare dream of how painful passing a kidney stone could be. Thank God for modern medicine, indeed. One thing I've learned after the tract infection and from readin...

I'm excited about picking up a Delica in SG2. It would rotate nicely with my Delica in SB. :D

Re: Spyderco 4'' Kitchen Knives are Out!

Thanks for the heads-up, Invective. I'll be looking to pick one up in January. The utility knife has seen a lot of use, thus far and I'm sure the paring knife will see the same.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Para 2, for me. It's going to be a New Years gift as there's no way it will be getting to me before then. I got one when they were first released and sold it. I've regretted not having one for some time now. I saw it for a good price and couldn't pass it up - it's always wise to have a Para in your ...

+1 with Deacon's response. I'm hoping to be able to pick up the updated Stretch design in VG10.

Re: Caly 3.5 discontinued?

Tis a sad day, indeed. I've been away for a bit and this is the news I come back to. :( Thank you, Roman for giving me the heads up. I just ordered another back up as the VG10 Caly 3.5 has been my favorite :spyder: to-date. I hope to see a Caly 4.0 in the near future and be surprised by the upgrades...

Thanks for the pictures and impressions, Paul. I've been holding off on picking up a Stretch because of this new revision that is incoming. I did, however, gift a Stretch to my brother-in-law and he loves it. Since I'm a Caly fan, first and foremost, I believe the new choil will feel better in my ha...

Thanks for sharing, Kristi and Sal. I'm glad you are enjoying the new choil, Sal. I feel like many of your designs are tailored for my own hand and thoroughly trust your judgement. The Caly is my favorite model and I'm eager to pick up an updated Stretch. ;)

I couldn't stand the raised jimping on the Manix 2. Those steel nubs felt very uncomfortable, IMO. The Para 2 felt very good in hand, however, and I would definitely recommend it over the former.

I'm excited to hear about the change to the Stretch. I love the Caly design (as is known among these parts, :p ) and I've wanted to acquire a Stretch for some time now. When I found out that Sal was thinking about adding the Caly choil to the design, I decided to bide my time. I'm glad my willpower ...

I'm with ya, Roman. I'd be perfectly happy with VG10 but wouldn't mind another stainless steel (not ZDP though). Dark blue or dark green have my vote for the scales.
