Re: 2017 Forum Knife poll

OK, now that I have done my homework, I am quite warmed up to the Delica Wharncliffe in HAP40, this actually sounds quite cool on several counts: 1 - I am recently enthused about tool steels and HAP40 looks really interesting now that I am reading about it! 2 - I realize that a couple of my favorite...

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

Just ran across this story while looking up information on something or other .... The biggest reason I'm so loyal to spyderco is way back in 2003, in the middle of a s**t hole of a country, one of the guys in our platoon sent a hand written letter to spyderco. I can't remember why but I know he did...

Re: 2017 Forum Knife poll

How about a PM2 with K390? I'd vote for the Manix-2 with 204P, but I am piling up too many Manix 2 knives.
Heck, I'd even settle for a Manix-2 with K390 in spite of what I just said.

But the real question. How does this Forum knife thing work? This is all new to me.

Re: Questionable tag lines & shiny footprints

I have had this phrase "shiny footprints" rattling through my head the past few days ever since I stumbled across this thread. This is such a fine idea, not just for this forum, but for all of life. I hope when the day comes and I am gone from this world people think, "Ol' Tom, he was...

Re: MT26P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with Micro-Melt® A11 (PMA11)

So far I am very impressed with this one. This is by far the sharpest blade I have ever received from Spyderco, but no telling if that speaks to the steel or the care taken in making the blade. And I have been busy reading about 10V, K390, and A11 online and get more enthused all the time. I'm think...

I'll try for the pics, but it may be a couple of days before I can take the time. And it will be the usual adventure of figuring out how to get them onto the forum.

Re: Manix 2 Carbon Fiber S90V composite

I have had this knife for about a week, and here are some observations. First is that I am glad to have it -- alongside my S30V and S110V "regular production" Manix 2 knives. The Manix 2 is a particular favorite of mine. This is my first knife with carbon fiber, and it certainly looks nice...

Re: If you could keep only one Spyderco, which one would it be?

Nice to see all the admiration for the Manix 2. That would be my choice as well, probably in S110V. People sometimes complain they can't close it one handed. This has always perplexed me. My concern is getting the knife open one handed. Once the job is done I am in no great hurry to get the knife cl...

Re: Spyderco suggestions under $75

I am surprised nobody mentioned the Tenacious. It is certainly what pops into my mind at this price point. I just don't like back lock knives, but that is just me. I know the Tenacious is made in China, but it is nicely made. I have habits formed around liner lock knives, so it is a great choice.

Re: MT26P - Mule Team Fixed Blade with Micro-Melt® A11 (PMA11)

An interesting contrast to the last offering in LC200N. Here we have a non-stainless tool steel knife and then we had a knife with extreme corrosion resistance. It is as though the cosmos is striving towards conservation of corrosion resistance. Well, I look forward to the PMA11 steel. Living in the...

Re: Spyderco military 2

My only "wish" with respect to the Military would be tip up carry. All else is fine. It is all about muscle memory. Since I rotate through other knives in my pocket, I have habits formed for drawing and opening the knife and my fingers expect tip up. If all I ever carried was a Military, I...
