Re: New Autonomy 2 owner – basic questions
I usually press the button and once the blade starts to close I release it. I just put oil on the pivot. Mine has been fine for the past 3 and a half years.

Re: 2023 - Did your preferences change or stay the same?
My main folders for the past 2 years have been the Kris, military, autonomy 2, and yojumbo. SE H1 spyderhawk has essentially been carried every day for about 14 or 15 years now. My preferences have remained the same. Unfortunately I don't use fixed blades much right now but I carry the Respect most ...

Maybe look at the cold steel recon scout in 3V if you want a guard.

Re: OG Military Replacement
If you want all out edge holding out of currently available milis then 110v is the best option. I personally like S90V more. I would also vote for the S30V mili and an extra coarse edge.

Looks like I'll be drinking buffalo trace tonight.
My wife contacted them before we got married and then for our 1 year anniversary. They sent this for the anniversary. Also we're expecting our first in January so they included a onesie for him as well.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Used my Darn Dao to cut the thread I used to fix the sheath. Unfortunately I couldn't sew the whole thing because I broke 3 curved needles. I also forgot to use my groover to recess the stitching on the inside. If it happens again I'll be sure to use the groover.

Big thanks to the spyderco crew and my wife.
So my wife and I just had our first wedding anniversary and she knows I like spyderco. She contacted them and told them about it. They took it upon themselves to send me some goodies.
Thanks again spyderco and thanks to my wife.

Re: Swords!
The closest I have to a sword is my condor dadao and cold steel gladius machete. I wrapped the condor handle with athletic cloth tape like they use for hockey sticks or tennis racquets. Wanted to get in on the carothers swords but funds weren't there. If busse had made this offering with a solid gua...

Re: What knife do you actually carry and use the most?
Right now during the week it's the S90V CF Yojumbo and the H1 SE Spyderhawk. All time most carried knife for me is the spyderhawk though. That never changes. Used the S30V military a lot this year too and the autonomy 2. On the weekends it's the Kris. Respect also sees a good bit of weekend carry bu...

Re: CPM-S90V knife sharpening
S90V is definitely not the easiest to sharpen when it's dull. I damaged a S90V knife before and it took a very long time to fix with a coarse diamond stone. It may take a while to see progress with ceramics.

Re: CPM-S90V knife sharpening
I use DMT diamond stones. If you free hand they are really good. Also you could try the spyderco sharpmaker with diamond stones. I'm not sure how dull your knife is but you can also color the edge with a marker to make sure you're actually hitting the apex.

Re: Mystery Box
On Reddit someone has a $250 box a Goddard and a knife in the middle with a blue spyder web on the handle. I don’t know what knife this is. I had one in my hands and basket at the seconds sale. It was one of the last knives that didn’t make the cut. Can anyone identify it? That's the Mike draper fo...

Re: Sharpening a bread knife?
I've also used extra coarse edges on PE knives with success for bread. A lot of people don't know how to cut bread and smash it while sawing it. Let the knife do the work.
