Im gonna say if you have the chance, hold both and see which one fits you better. They are both suited for hard duty, more so the millie IMO, but you should pair advice with personal experience and go to a shop and hold both. I personally would choose the millie.

BG-42 Millie is the Sharpest I own, from the Factory. Next would be my D2 Para. Then My Pac Salt and Tenacious are equally sharp IMHO. I use the Para daily, and sharpen her about every 3-4 days, just touch up, and its Extremely responsive to the Sharpmaker. I get her back to scary sharp on the SM. I...

I use mineral oil on my D2 para. I cut lots of fruits, meats veggies etc.... so far no staining. I want a nice patina one day, so far, no results. :(

And you are right, ZDP does not even come close to S90V...
I am also dying to try S110V, I have a custom Strider XL with that steel but I cannot find the courage to use it.
Timken Latrobe made my BG-42 Blade, I LOVE IT.

Crucible Questions

Greetings forumites and forumistas, I read here somewhere that Crucible was saved from Bankruptcy by bieng bought out (please correct me if im wrong). Given that info, will we ever see another CPM S90V run? Particularly the Millie? Or maybe a Para run or something? Seeing how popular the alloy is an...

I would like to re-sound the idea of putting a marlin spike in H-1 on an H-1 bladed knife. That would be so **** awesome. I tie knots likterally, hundreds of knots all day, which means i have a knife in one hand and my stainless marlin spike in the other...HOw sweet it would be to have both on one u...

I really like the action and secureness of the Ball Lock. Smooth and Positive. But since I dont own one yet, I have to say that my most cherished lock is the Compression Lock on the Para. I used to think that Back Locks were the best for me, then I went through a Liner Lock phase, then I scored my P...

My son is rocking an SAK. Its great. I wanted to buy him a Laybug, but I found the added tweezers and scissors better suited to his curious mind. Ladybug is a great choice, along with the D'fly.
