Re: China > Golden ?
I've only had a Tenacious and a Persistence from the China line but neither came close to my Golden made knives in terms of fit, finish, smoothness or quality feel, maybe I just got unlucky?

Re: H1 Fix
Thanks for the pics, the top down view of the jumpmaster was a real eye opener, I didn't realise how streamlined it was compared to the Aqua.
Love the Aqua Salt though, such a good all rounder, it would be great to see it in a variety of steels/grinds.....

Is the Wire clip design protected?
I just checked out the new Gerber US Assist and to my surprise the clip is seemingly identical to Spydercos UKPK wire clip. Does anyone know if they've "borrowed" the design or if the design is protected in some way and they've licensed it?

Re: Thick or Thin Blades: Reasons you prefer either or a mix of both?
Thinnish...2.5mm seems to be the sweet spot for me but as others have mentioned it's more about the grind and BTE thickness, a hollow or flat grind with a BTE thickness < .015 would make me happy. It really would be great if manufacturers showed the targeted BTE thickness in the spec....it would giv...

Re: Can`t get the same edge with the sharpmaker easily...
My issue may be the same as the OP's and possibly others. My Sharpmakers base angles are off, I have to raise one side up by ~1mm to make them equal. Compound this with triangle stones that are all bowed by varying degrees (which means the angle changes with each turn of the stone...) and it makes f...

Re: New Delica Wharncliffe-chip in edge
The edge looks like it's been sharpened, consistent shiny micro bevel as opposed to a burr.

I have mixed emotions about the changes, preferring the new Delica over the old but the old Endura handles over the new....and the revised spoon shaped, barrel bolt clips are perfection...

Re: Weak Detent on K2
I was trying to describe more or less the same thing that you are doing, forgive my poor description of it. Good to know yours is the same. Have you ever worried about it? I'm wondering if I may be more concerned than I should be since this is my only folder of this size/weight. I doubt I will ever...

Not sure that I understand your description above but if I hold my K2 and give it a sharp downward shake the blade will open. I consid...

Re: What is your favorite stainless steel and why?
Elmax or XHP, both hold a razor and working edge for a good amount of time, fairly easy to sharpen and seem to be nicely balanced in all other areas.

For me, the Military S110V, a great introduction to the model with the CQI changes, ridiculous edge holding of S110V and the time tested design of the Millie :spyder:  .

Re: Dodo Clips Are Awesome!
Looks like the shorter Dodo clip falls right on the lock bar relief on that Slysz Bowie. Might snag some material upon withdrawal. Might want to try the longer Manix 2 LW wire clip instead. Cool thread though. Sometimes the benefits of a lower profile clip in-use and in-hand out weigh any small ben...

Dodo Clips Are Awesome!
This may only interest 1% of you but I thought if it helped some it was worth posting. I love the wire clip on the UKPK but found on the Techno the 90 degree bend would dig into my palm horribly when used in a firm grip, as a result I put the Techno aside for a long while...it took some time before ...

Re: How obtuse is/was your Chaparral factory bevel?
Both Tiawan Spydercos I've had came with obtuse factory bevels. The Sage 1 I had was absurdly obtuse, probably on the order of 50 degrees inclusive. I think that's just the way they do it. I can't see a benefit. Mine have been the same as yours, don't come close to hitting the apex with a sharpmake...

Re: Official Petition for a Premium Tenacious
I'm split between the choices, happy to still have it made in China with the same fit and finish but would like to see it offered with a different steel and scale option to keep the Tenacious fresh....this would result in a smaller price increase and make it easier to justify sitting along side the ...

Re: To Honor?
I think it's a cool idea, and I think for Paul it would need bolsters, natural material scales, pinned construction, ambidextrous lock and no clip. Maybe a bigger Kopa, although I think of Paul every time I see a Kiwi. This and maybe include some engraving on the bolsters. I'm pretty sure that the ...

Re: Purpose of a Business?
If you want to boil it down without all the business mumbo jumbo, you could say the purpose of a business is to make happy customers, without that there is no business to speak of... profits, job satisfaction and expansion can only continue if you have satisfied that one criteria.
