Re: DLC For Rust Prone Steels
Thanx Vivi. Good information. On that top pin that rusted, was it coated? sal I think Vivi missed your question but I will add for your engineering teams information, my uncoated new CQI Milli 110V's stop pin rusted on me the first day, the rest of the knife remained fine, this is the only Spydie t...

Re: Spyderco Gratitude Giveaway
Great idea for a comp! Back when I first joined I had plenty of questions, being in Australia as a knife nut was and still is an expensive proposition so you really needed to do your homework to avoid disappointment. Many people were super helpful in my quest to drop plenty of money on new Spydies b...

Re: The Waterway Will Be Mine...
Chris, the one I have is the same as the one on pages 116-117 and will be the final product. The one pictured with the description is actually a photo of an earlier prototype and is quite different. I am guessing that photo was used by mistake? That's great news as it's the most appealing  . ...

Re: I feel like the only person who likes S30V in 2017
I've always pondered the sometimes very strong opinions of different steels, for my own opinions I concluded that it often came down to sharpening equipment and skill, I can now sharpen any steel I own but that was not always the case, the large variances I saw in performance generally came down to ...

I voted wire clip but I replace all standard wire clips for the Dodo wire clip, except on the UKPK and Caly.

Re: Why linerless?
Not only are linerless designs lighter, they have one less part where dirt and grime can hide inside or behind, and for those of us living in places or doing things where rust could be a concern, it's one less metal part that can rust. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of Spydercos with liners or sk...

Very nice work! Looks like Pete needs to ditch his Worksharp for a KME though....for anyone that likes the idea of a somewhat awkward ozzy nerd trialling his survival skills overnight, then Pete's "dickhead survival" is too funny and a must watch, I enjoy all his channel though.

Sounds interesting but I couldn't find anything about it other than in kitchen knives, anyone know about it's toughness or how it compares to something like ZDP?

Re: Name a Spyderco knife you did not think you would like until you owned it.
The Spydiechef, I only bought it to try out LC200N, I'd been suggesting LC200N for just about every new knife before even trying the steel out....initially I was just going to get the mule, but when I added scales, sheath and shipping it was quite a bit more expensive than the SC I got. The SC's des...

Re: Re: Name a Spyderco knife you thought you would like but didn't once you owned it.
The GB1, it has an almost perfect blade, loved the high hollow grind but the handle was just too oddly shaped for my hand and confirmed that I do not enjoy raised liners on a knife.

Re: What Oil do you guys use?
I assume your just referring to thread locker (Loctite) to prevent loosening screws. Like quite a few others, I use Camellia oil on my blades, excellent food grade oil, I've had the same bottle for around 15 years and still have 2/3's left. For my pivots I use INOX which may only be available in Aus...
