Re: Delica scale options?

RC Bladeworks :smiling-heart-eyes Beautiful! What are the backspacers made out of? Micarta. It has a steel insert, instead of those little nubs, to make it a lot more durable though. I don't know that I would trust a Micarta backspacer on a Delica otherwise, lol. The video shows off the backspacer ...

Re: Delica scale options?

RC Bladeworks gets my vote. They come with a backspacer, although it's not integrated. https://i.imgur.com/oZLMXXc.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pylqFnq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Lbi3Wxu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OVlJAeh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/zNHykii.jpg I've got another set of Delica scales from him on the...

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

Here they are! Delica scales with Mexican Blanket G-Carta came in. Fit an finish is impeccable, and they did indeed come with a Micarta backspacer. :D

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

He has been talked about a lot, but I just received some scales from Suingab (g10.it) out of Ukraine. For $80 shipped they are amazing and the contouring is out of this world. Has me rethinking Delica scales. https://i.postimg.cc/LX2Bf1jP/PXL-20230927-210527360.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/3rLC4WNy/PXL...

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

Do they include micarta backspacers? They sure do! As well as a little steel insert make the backspacer more durable. Super genius design! Does that mean it’s easier to reassemble than the FRN version? He has a how to video of how to install his scales now. I think it looks a bit easier than how I’...

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

i've never been a fan of the mexican blanket look, personally, but i do think it's cool how it almost gives the effect of a bolster. i've been thinking about how i can jazz up my delica wc (i said what i said). i might have to consider micarta. That’s the beauty of it! You can go with ANY of G-Cart...

Wouldn’t hurt to ask Ronald. He seems pretty open to new ideas. :)

Re: A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

I liked my RC Bladeworks micarta scales, but that beautiful mexican blanket micarta costs a lot more than a Delica itself. You can actually get it really reasonably priced. I often buy set of scales from G-Carta for $30 - $40 and that would be enough for inlays for like four knives. I have over 50 ...

First I have seen Delica scales by them and as usual look great . Very tempting I must say . MG2 They’re a brand new line! He just finished getting the prototypes dialed in…. And boy are they nice! You should hear the lockup! And with the new option to choose ANY G-Carta inlay and have it shipped d...

A new option for CRAZY good Delica scales!

RC BladeWorks has just come out with a new line of customizable Micarta Delica scales!!! You choose the border Micarta material, and then you can choose from ANY of G-Carta's crazy cool Micarta offerings as an inlay! You can also choose to have just a solid Micarta scale made. With more and more mak...

Re: What is going on with the Waterway production?

The Waterway just became available through several dealers out of the blue! After nearly a two and a half year wait, I just put my order in through DLT Trading! It looks like they are in stock at DLT Trading, KnivesShipFree, The Knife Connection, and KnifeCenter. I’m sure there are others too. Here’...

Re: Food Grade Protectant for Tool Steels

I’ve tried a LOT of food grade protectants over the years, and tsubaki (camellia seed) oil is still the best I’ve used on blades. It’s been for hundreds of years as a cooking oil, and steel protectant in Japan. If you want to try a more long-term, harder wearing, wax based protectant…. I’d recommend...

Re: Drunken Lynch Clip!

I actually sold off my Drunken and A. Purvis clip for the same reason. It looked phenomenal, but it liked to shift too much. I've never been stoked with single screw clip designs. Casey puts a LOT of thought into his clips. If I would have known he was coming out with one, I probably would have kept...

I hope it will be a leaf blade. It is more elegant looking and more practical for my uses than the skinner blade.
Seconded.
