Re: Forum Update/Maintenance & Move - PLEASE READ

The new contrast is a big improvement, thanks! Hi Kristi, A larger size font would be appreciated if possible? sal Agreed. While the font size is adjustable if logged in , the "unlogged" font size is tiny! That would affect the many readers of the forum who don't log in, possibly encouragi...

eBay is unconcerned and will not enforce. I reported several of the counterfeits, and for each report, received this reply:

Re: Fake Manix 2 LWs on Ebay?

Man I feel sorry for the suckers who are buying fake Manix LWs. They're going to be surprised at how bendy their "Maxamet" and "Magnacut" and "S90V" is. And I'm taking personal offense to these counterfeits...the Manix LW is one of my favorite knives. Black hardware on ...

Re: "Delica" the Tip of a Mule 2?

Hi Bolster, I've been using a SPY27 Mule daily for a multitude of tasks. I think the steel will handle the tip as it comes. Just don't pry or stab concrete. I sharpen it on a 20, 30, and a few strokes of 40. It's held up just fine. Sort of a Hamaguri. sal Thanks, Sal. Not much concrete to stab in t...

"Delica" the Tip of a Mule 2?

I'm working on making (another) backpacking knife, this one from a Mule 2 (MT28). Question: For its intended purpose, should I "Delica" the tip?

Re: Spyderco 50th Anniversary Knife?

I know this sounds off the wall . How about all knives commemorate the anniversary by having a 50th by the bug of every model made that year ? Just another thought to toss around . May not be practical for smaller blades . MG2 Now that is pure genius! All people would be able to celebrate because o...

Pretty sure that’s a Paramilitary 2. Great choice!

Oh, you're right, of course. I guess the memory is the first thing to go!

Re: Fake Manix 2 LWs on Ebay?

And here I thought FRCP handles were difficult to make or fake...they require an expensive mold, no? Agree: Only pinned for Maxamet and S90V. Should look like this...no curve on the CPM S90V lettering, and notice the top of the 'y' in 'Spyderco' doesn't rise above the top of the other letters in the...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

For everyone worried the Charisma will immediately shatter during use, that’s thicker than 3 disposable utility razor blades. It’s not something you’d sell at Walmart next to the Gerber machetes but as an enthusiast blade it should be fine. I haven't read a single person who thinks this knife will ...

Re: AI art knows Spyderco

Sounds like AI is the proverbial elephant being examined by several blind men, each experiencing a separate element of it. For my part, my major interaction with AI is trying to reach corporations on the phone for service help or product information. I get the AI fem-bot that can't answer any questi...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

i'm confused why people are worried about this knife breaking. it's a small blade and it's only 1mm thick. this knife clearly isn't made for applying any kind of lateral force. it's made for slicing and opening your mail, not for building a cabin in the woods. So far, all my Spydies do a good job o...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

My concerns are this though: The Z-cut I owned broke through the centre of the Spydiehole… cutting a potato on a plastic cutting board! Although the stock is 0.2mm thicker on the Charisma, it’s hole is significantly bigger than the Z-cut. This area WILL be a point of weakness on this knife. I hones...
