Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

Spyderco has already gone to extremes in regards to edge holding and corrosion resistance, I don't see any reason not to do the same with toughness. Just needs to be a design that would benefit from such a steel. S7 is fun to work with. I've abused the **** out of that one I posted, having done thi...

Eric has discussed the possibility of a custom shop with the Golden Knife-Makers and they seem to like the idea. We'll see what the future holds.

Re: custom shop...

Near-custom Spydies at relatively reasonable prices, as now, is not good enough?! I think people wanting a custom shop are dissing the manufacturing magic that Sal has spent decades uniquely designing. But, don’t mind me. I thought flippers belittled the Spydiehole. It's all good, though. Sal said ...

Re: Joy over function

Spyderco Kapara, great ergos, incredible blade, coolest pivot I've seen on a Spydie and default wire clip, one of the longest cutting edges on any Spyderco I can think of for its size (and even longer than the Benchmade 940) by getting the blade to be 1/3 of the forward finger groove and the handle...

Re: Model request: Enuff in S7 steel

Not everything needs to be taken to extremes. Very few people can benefit from the extreme steels that excel in only one parameter.

Re: On hold until expansion

I would not rush to sell off your Sprints. Spyderco is not deliberately going to destroy the secondary market by making repeats of prior sprints or exclusives. If the custom shop comes to be, it will likely offer something new.

Re: On hold until expansion

Does the expansion mean there will be a Custom Spyderco Shop? I don't think this forum goes a full year between requests for custom shop knives, but so far it's never happened. I think there's way too much money to be made in sprints and exclusives. If I could have any combo I want, it would take a...

Yes, expensive, made in a small quantity, desirable, and will leave a trail of tears from the FOMOers. At least it will fun looking at the cool pictures.

Presumably all this is just to meet the obscure, individual demands of forum members?
Precisely! Each forum member will be assigned their own builder and can special order one unique knife a year. The total cost will be roughly a year's salary plus expenses.

Re: On hold until expansion

Fact*:
The entire top floor will hold a library of 3x5 cards with as yet unseen Sal designs. It is expected that it will be 98% full on completion of the building.

Re: Most Boring Discussion/Comment on Spyderco Forum?

I skip the threads that I have no interest in, or I find boring/repetitive, or that I find annoying. It seems a very simple solution, but I suppose I may miss something useful along the way.

The only conclusion I can come up with is that if Bolster weights the same as a duck, he's a witch. 🤪

The PMA11'S are great mules so I'll want one of these too!
I say we build a bridge out of him.
