Re: Para 3 Action Inconsistency?

I’ve just had bad experiences sending in knives. I’ve done it twice for knives with up and down play, and they came back the exact same.

I was hoping maybe someone had to same problem, but had a solution. You guys have had some clever solutions to problems like this before!

Para 3 Action Inconsistency?

Recently I haven’t been buying as many knives as I have been in the past, but I fell in love with the M390 Para 3. The action is perfect, and I have no complaints. I loved it so much that I bought a S90V CF one from a reputable dealer. I love everything about it, besides one thing. The side to side ...

Re: Lock strength and safety

I don’t worry much about lock strength anymore. My Tenacious is the only knife I don’t really trust. The lock fails when I tap it against my knee. However, during normal cutting I guess it doesn’t really matter. My favorite locks are not necessarily the strongest, but the easiest to use for me.

Re: Dice & Domino Owners, a Quick Question

My Domino took a little while to get perfect. You can mess with the pivot screws as long as you’re careful. Just put some lubricant on the detent ball, and a small amount around the pivot. Then just open and close the knife until it smooths out. You have to play around with it to figure out what wil...

Re: Reinhold Rhino Update

It will be cool to see a premium version of such a cool design. However, I haven't been buying as many knives recently due to price, and other interests. So a small compression lock knife, designed by a fellow forum member, that was also cheap had me very interested. At the old price I would have bo...

Nothing here either. I emailed about it a while ago and was told to request another one. That was a few months ago, still nothing yet.

Re: Why not more Bolt Action locks?

I love my Sage 3. The bolt action lock is probably the smoothest and easiest lock actuate. I've noticed most non-knife people have a very hard time with BBL or CBBL knives, but the bolt action lock is always easy to use for them. I'd definitely buy more knives with this lock.

Re: Comparison of Three Small Compression Lock Folders

I usually don't mind the foreign made knives because they usually cost less than a US model when using comparable materials. A knife like the Delica or Endura are great quality, and high value. But when the Lil Temp and the new ATR cost almost $200 each, it seems a little too expensive. I got my 204...

If people are afraid of a Dragonfly, imagine if they saw a Civilian! To be fair, that knife probably scares 99% of people as it is, even knife people

Re: Its Official the Delica 4 is Non-Threatening

Maybe it's just where I live. I live in Michigan in a suburb outside of Detroit, and many people are afraid of any knife you could carry. My blue delica has been called a "dagger" before. I was at a auto shop the other day, I pulled out my Sage 2 to open a box because the lady at the count...

Re: Paramilitary 2 left-handed version

I've had plenty of family and friends come to me for advice on a good user knife. One of my friends bought a DLC Manix 2 in S30V because I suggested it. He knows nothing about knives, but wanted something quality without spending a crazy amount. Again, wait until the G10/S30V one is released. If it'...

Re: Paramilitary 2 left-handed version

For all of us on the Spyderco forum, S30V and black G-10 isn't very exciting or new, but for the average user who just wants a knife to cut things, it's probably a good thing. Your average user just wants something that'll work, and comes at a lower price. Like I said earlier, if the lefty version i...

Re: Paramilitary 2 left-handed version

But if they did something special with it the price would go up, and people would then complain about how they can't just get a "normal" configuration. And then the right handed people would want the same knife in the right handed configuration. Also, if the regular left handed model is a ...

Re: Paramilitary 2 left-handed version

Well I'm sure the reason they made it with S30V is because only 10% of the population is left handed, like you just said. Not many people would be buying a premium left handed version. It would be awesome for the lefties, but it wouldn't be worth it for Spyderco to make.

Re: I'm reticent to buy a knife made in Taiwan.

The fit and finish on the Taichung models in my experience is usually on par or better than the Golden models. Would I prefer my knives be made in US? Sure! But most of my favorite knives come from Taiwan. You'll be missing out on some amazing knives if you skip the Taiwan produced ones.

Re: Sal, any possibility of a Scandium knife?

To be honest I'm not sure it would be worth the price increase. I'd still love to see it in a knife however. I really doubt it would be noticeably lighter than titanium, and it hasn't really been proven in any knife platforms. I wonder how the scandium would perform in parts like a lockbar. I'm inte...

Re: Why do some denigrate VG10 steel?

I think people are just used to all the exotic steels we have now. VG10 is a good steel, but we've seen it so much that it gets a little boring. It's the same situation with S30V. Probably 90% of my knives are S30V. I don't have a problem with either of those steels, but I would like to see some mor...
