Re: Saying goodbye to my Kershaws
The only Kershaw I still have and use is an S30V CF Skyline. Still one of the best EDCs I've ever carried. It's one major flaw is the poorly designed pocket clip, but I remedied that early on with a deep-carry titanium replacement. I also replaced the cheesy backspacer with a couple of titanium spac...

Re: Manix Backlock Sprint poll
M390 and K390 (DLC) for me. I tend to reserve the 'tough' steels for fixed blades.

Re: Ideas for revamped mule team
My vote would be to use the Sprig as a template, maybe even a little smaller. About 4.5" on the handle with a 3mm thick 3" ffg blade. Bird and Trout designs are very handy. Small enough to edc yet big enough to be useful for many purposes.

Re: Spyderco Native 5 Lightweight - surprised me (PICS)
You know, 90% of the 'down the rabbit hole' threads on this forum can be attributed to 'steel junky reasons'. More folks need to fall back on that instead of getting all butt hurt and inflamed.

Re: How can you like FRN but hate FRCP?
At the end of the day, I just want more transluscent FRCP like on the BD1 Manix 2 LW. I'm perfectly fine with how both FRN and FRCP feel and function, neither has ever failed me. So I'm more inclined to daydream about a transluscent orange Native 5 LW, or a transluscent gray Manix 2 LW with DLC blad...

Re: Has anyone yet seen a Manix 2 LW in BD1N?
What a great opportunity for a different transluscent color!
Sorry, I wasn't much help here. I just saw this as a prime opportunity to shamelessly pass another hint in hopes that Sal will see it. I too am looking forward to checking out BD1N steel.

Re: Strength: G10 vs FRCP?
My blue transluscent Manix LW is one of my favorite folders. I have used this knife hard, but not inappropriately, for several years. Still as tight as the day I bought it. Granted, I don't use my knives as prybars. I keep waiting for Spyderco to bring out a new transluscent FRCP knife in another co...

Tip-down (heresy? maybe not...)
I'm a devout proponent of tip-up carry, and have always opted for that configuration. I even got rid of some knives because tip-up wasn't an option. But recently I took a hard look at my Paramilitary 2 and Para 3 because I just couldn't get comfortable with how they felt in-hand and also how they fi...

Re: Police4 FRN ETA
Dark blue FRN, deep-carry wire clip, ffg XHP..... most excellent indeed! Lately I've been choosing fixed blades over large folders, but I'd make an exception for one of these.

I wipe my DLC Spydies down with mineral oil now and again. Seems to do the trick and it's food safe.

Re: Vesuvius Sprint - Poll
Linerless FRN and backlock like the Chap LW would be awsome. Add a wire clip and a bug inlay ftw.

I'd find it hard to resist but I'd also like to see it at least get a deep carry clip upgrade.

Thanks! Next question, how long between the CC release and the general release? I've really been looking forward to this one.

Re: Centofante 3 - time for a sprint!
I'm on my 4th. I keep giving them away to people who can appreciate them. They are a reasonable price and a high value. Plus they sit right on the edc intersection of form and function. I've dissected many a large apple and rescued more than a few picnics with my Centofante 3.

I'm on board! How about linerless G10 or CF and a wire clip? XHP and keep the bug inlay for the win.

Wonder if it's a supply thing? Didn't Cold Steel just switch from XHP to S35 because of a supply issue?

Re: Spyderco’s Polestar & Alcyone should not be in the “VALUE LINEUP”
+1 on the positive feedback for the Resilience. Sexiest blade profile of any of my Spydies, regardless of price. It's become my 'ready for most anything' knife. I generally carry it when I might need a big blade that will still bury well in a pocket. It's also surprisingly nimble for such a large fo...
