UK Penknife - CQI for spinning pivot?
Dear all, quick question I can`t find answer to, does UKPK have the same spinning pivot CQI solution\prevention as Urban has? I am talking about this steel inlay inside the scales preventing main pivot from spinning. I am eyeing UKPK for quite some time, I have two urbans (K390, AEB-L) and both have...

Haha, I know that thread actually and I am a big supporter of your enthusiastic promotion of that idea! As you say, same knife, same blade thinness just longer... That would really be something I would instantly buy

Re: Chaparral
Just felt like posting a pic of this great model - an old one, actually taken when I had my Chap for only a short time. Love this knife and would encourage everyone to try one. It´s something special imo. https://i.postimg.cc/W40cMK8v/Chap-wood.jpg Wow, love to see photo of Chap being used :clappin...

Re: Chaparral
I hope Chap will get better in terms of sales - one of the best small designs from Spyderco, kinda blend of Kopa and Walker C22 - extremely good slicer in small elegant body.
Just to be sure, I need to purchase few pieces in case it would get discontinued, I love my FRN model.

Re: New Discoveries found in 8Cr13MoV testing
I think 8Cr13Mov is, as mentioned, quite underrated. My first Spyderco was Tenacious, bought two months after it`s release. I remember i was not happy with edge holding but after years, out of nostalgia I purchased LW Tan version and I have to say something either had to change in the HT protocol or...

Re: Recommendations for a European traditionalist
Hi Bernhard, Welcome to the forum, I am from your neighboring country but I, quite regularly, travel to Vienna. I can recommend Lorenzi shop Siebensterngasse 41, 1070 Wien - I was able to purchase Manbug in K390 there on sale of 75 eur last year. If you would have possibility to travel to Brno City ...

Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?
I am living in a country, where there is no limit on carry and I still do enjoy small knives as well as bigger knives. Older I get (not that I am that old) more I appreciate smaller pocket knives (Urban, Squeak, Manbug). Ideally I carry some kind of duo though - Endura or Delica and Manbug; Manix 2 ...

Re: ATS-55 Police Model Dropped
Hi PMan, not sure if you are much familiar with Sal - he is the founder and owner of the company. He is quite active in Spyderco Forums and he personally reacted with suggestion to contact customer service. I would recommend to do so, you will be treated well and they will do what they can to repair...

Re: Upping the price.
Hi Zhyla, I think that you can see that Eric is working with the Chinese makers to learn to work with other steels. But using US steels does raise the price. The downside is sometimes sales? We have to see how it does in the Real World Market. That takes time. eg; the Polestar and Alcyone are very ...

Re: Upping the price.
Soooo I was thinking, what kind of jam are you guys putting in PBJ sandwich? Is there some kind of a rule what type has to go in? Grape, Orange Marmalade, Blueberry, or Raspberry for me. Call me weird, it is what it is. As long as it's not Petroleum, I think any jelly or jam people favor is accepta...

Re: Gauntlet vs Sharpmaker
Hi Bruce, Fair question. I designed the Gauntlet in about 2000. We made some prototypes. But it still took another decade and a half to bring it to market. We can only do some much? Limited funds, labor limitations, testing time, tooling time, prototyping, etc. We have many ideas and designs that a...

Re: Gauntlet vs Sharpmaker
Just reading through all points here I think it would be quite a dream to have crossover between Gauntlet and Sharpmaker, just imagine same stones as on Gauntlet just in various grits as on SM, three to four different angles to match modern steels (most people use 30 inclusive as base degree). All t...

Re: Spyderco SLIPITs SE question
Hey, All: The biggest market for our SLIPITs is Europe. Europeans also have a clear preference for PlainEdge blades and rarely buy knives with serrated edges. It's basically a matter of market preferences. Stay safe, Mike Hi Mike, thank you very much for your reply. This makes sense, even though I ...

Exactly what others have stated already: Find some good video on this topic. Cedric and Ada - https://youtu.be/3M5ubJ8h2cQ 1. Mark your edge with sharpie or any other permanent marker and have some kind of loupe at hand (I use Victorinox with Loupe sufficiently) 2. protect rest of the blade with som...
