I would plunge my hand in there to retrieve a Spydie. The average keyboard / mouse harbors more germs and bacteria than a truck stop restroom so a toilet would be less hazardous to your health.

As far as I know, there wasn't a Salsa forum knife. But there are plenty of Salsa variants that haven't been posted yet in this thread :)

Dragonfly. The stainless handled version. A lot of people perceive a knife with more heft as being of better quality. And a lot of people perceive FRN as being cheap or plasticky. Most knife afi's know better but someone who is new to knives might not. Gifting the stainless Dragonfly could possibly ...

I like this thread. I always carry a USB flash drive (sometimes referred to as a "thumb drive"). The one pictured is $7 for 16gb from amazon. Price has dropped way down in recent years. I can remember when these things used to cost $300-500 each. Important files, games, pictures, music, PD...

With the SALT line its no problem, with your Caly you'll have to take it apart down to the last screw and immerse JUST the G10. I know on the older Caly's this would not be possible as they are made with pinned construction, not sure about the newer Caly3's, with CQI and all they may have changed t...

This is not that simple. There were sprints, which were sitting on dealers shelves for a year and sold on clearance at loss. I would say more (quantity) knives would be the solution but that exposes spyderco to the risk. Everyone on these forums always brings this up and every time I always find my...

I don't know how to go back in the ebay results but I can assure you the green Para2 was selling for $3-400 for a $120 knife. Insult my math all you want, but myself and many forum members here were watching it happen.

At least flippers or speculative investors allow you to find a knife a decade old in great shape. Very true. However, as was mentioned earlier, I believe the focus here is more geared toward a "speculative investor" (I'm diggin' the P.C. terminology :) ) who does this not with a knife tha...

Philo Beddoe wrote:Evil? LOL. If some dude buys a knife then turns around and sells it and makes $20 in the process WOW big deal
You are minimizing the issue to make it sound less significant than it actually is. Most of the time it's not just a matter of $20 but rather 2-3x the price of the knife.

There's always hope. They re-issued the Jot Singh Khalsa and the Lava and the interest level in those is about on par with the Harpy proposed in this thread. I already have the G-10 Harpy but I would definitely be in favor of a re-issued "modernized" version.

Without going & digging out my boxes, do the boxes for fixed blades somehow differ from the boxes for folders? Are they not the "sliding drawer" type of boxes?

I agree that there are areas that could use a little improvement. For example, the "New Product Announcements" sub-forum seems to have been abandoned and hasn't been updated in over a year and a half. I do like the catalog overall very much but I also believe there is always room for impro...

I disagree that if you want a centered blade, you should expect to pay $400+ per knife.

I own almost 20 Byrd knives, all of them dead centered, none of them were $400. In fact, none of them were over $25 bucks apiece.

In my opinion, a centered blade is a reasonable expectation.
