It's been a long time since I've even been here reading posts... Time to jump back in! I nearly cut off my right pinky when I was about 14. For some crazy reason, I was trying to cut a hole in a piece of plywood. I thought it would poke through since the wood was rather rotted, so I took a small ser...

Only one?! Soo many good knives... To choose only one might hurt their feelings... The knife I've been carrying lately is my black-coated blade Bob Lum Tanto. Wonderful little knife, I love the tanto blade. Just last night it was used for some amateur fire fighting, it was the only thing available t...

Guess I got lucky when I went to the airport a few days ago to pick someone up. Went throught with a pair of Delicas, a Leatherman and a SAK. Also the Micra on a very full keyring, and I noticed that I forgot to take off my E1 and it didn't set it off... But then it has an Al body. The knives barely...

Taking it apart?
Two of them, actually. First, there is a slight annoyance with my G10 Lum Tanto. Hey Sal, how about rounding off the back end? I can't get my mind straight, what's it called? The very back of the blade inside the handle. Anyways, on the Military it's nice and round. Perhaps you should start doing th...

It's a nice knife... What Spyderco isn't? But I think I like the Remote Release better. It's just easier for me to use... And it's ambidextrous. No lefties with a Snap-It, at least not easily... Of course I'm spoiled since both my Snap-It and Remote Release are the orange EMT-blade models <img src=&...

Seems to me that a Harpy or Merlin with a blunt rounded tip would be nice. I can't seem to find the model I'm thinking of to give an example of that kind of tip. Also, the Emerson Sark matches the description above pretty good... Except that it's $190. But a nice blade and G10 handle... <drool> But ...

I like black blades... I don't know why, I just do. So far I have a Benchmade auto mini-Stryker and my more greyish Chris Reeve. I think Benchmade makes most of there knives with their BT2 coating. Why doesn't Spyderco? And what exactly is the Black-Ti coating that those few Spydercos have? I guess ...

Doh! I can never remember which password I use at the different sites. My first attempt has vanished into cyberspace, never to be seen... It seems that the server doesn't like long passwords and cut mine off, yet still notices that it's too long and won't let me in! Time to change the password, I gu...

There was a $15 AKTI application in a Spydie box that I got recently. Must've been the one from Smoky Mountain. Went to look at the web site, and it had gone up by $20! I realize that running ANY kind of organization can be expensive, that is when you can find people to do things. But I think that $...

Don't forget the Remote Release recue version! Same sheepsfoot blade as the Rescue, but a bit shorter. And it's orange! You can go browse around for a picture at http://www.chaicutlery.com/spyderco/, and is only available from Ironstone. Email Patti for more info, the address is fe3stone@aloha.net. ...

Stupid me... Good thing there's an edit button! I think I found EMS, try http://www.shopems.com/ - Eastern Mountain Sports. I'm searching their site right now, but all I see from Spyderco are plain and 50/50 Delicas. I think the Q design is pretty cool, the COMPLETELY adjustable pocket clip sounds l...

Watch out for the local laws - city, county, etc. Here in Oregon the only thing I can find is no concealed carry of autos and the normal dirk dagger ice pick etc. clause. But when you look at the city code for Portland, they don't allow concealed carry of knives over 3.5 inches. Luckily it isn't too...
