Re: Spydiechef CQI??

All of this chat regarding the wear and tear of the ti on the steel has me concerned. Should I be or am I waay overreacting?6B1AB4EC-9CBE-411D-B482-6DDFDCECEBD6.jpeg I have the newer version, the same as you, don't worry a bit about the Ti wearing. I've now flipped mine thousands of times and there...

Looks like the Drunken went live today on the Spyderco website(sold out already) ....and a few online retailers! https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C235CFTI/Drunken/1209 Excited about this one.... James I've been checking the website every day for several weeks and saw it pop-up yesterday mor...

Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions

No rust after an overnight soak in vinegar. Edge is just as sharp as it was yesterday. I touched it up on the white sharpmaker rods. Using the 15 degree slots hit the edge on the back side and the shoulder of the bevel on the presentation side. 20 degree slots hit the apex on each side. The edge se...

Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions

What an excellent review! I can’t wait to get back to the states and pick mine up from the post office on Monday. You spent considerable time writing about the handle texture, but it’s important to note that a quick pass with 220 or 400 grit sandpaper can tame that aggressiveness. It’s always best t...

I think the point of this thread is that Lance needs to design a cleaver in LC200N!!!

Re: LC200N, just for Salt series, or beyond?

I could see there being some confusion and disappointment if other hardware rusted on a knife that isn't a "salt" but has a steel that's known to be rust proof. Wouldn't be Spyderco's fault but you know how people are. I figure if they can make the Caribbean a Salt then making a Military ...

Wow. I don't think I've ever tried to use Tuf Glide as a lubricant. I use it as a protectant on non-stainless blades, and it works great there. I've never tried to lubricate something with it though.

It's a dry film lubricant that just happens to also prevent corrosion. ;)

Re: Tuf-Glide Not Working?

I’ve used Tuf-Glide for years because in my testing it out performs all of the “oils” I’ve tried. What you describe is how it’s always worked for me in first 12-24 hours until it was fully dry. If that gummyness continues it might mean that your pivot needs cleaned out. The thing I love about the st...

Re: How to: Mirror polished edge from SharpMaker

Just wondering if it's possible and how to? I recently took an Ultrafine stone to a Spyderco factory edge. Using only the ultrafine (it was the bench stone which is bigger than the sharpmaker stones, but it's the same grit), I was able to put a mirror polished edge on the blade. It took four hours ...

Re: Who else is packing some LC200n? Whaddya think?

Bill: The LC200N so far behaves very well. I'm not really certain if it holds an edge better or worse than VG-10, but I feel it holds it a bit better. Both resharpen very easily. Both are great steels, but in my admittedly still limited experience with it, LC200N seems to get even sharper than VG-1...

My thoughts exactly! I thought this was such a strange looking design, but given the passage of time and new models, I now find it quite attractive.

How is the SE performance and toughness compared to H1?

Better in all regards. At this point, H1 can go bye-bye. ;)

Any chance for a refresh of the Rock Lobster? LC200N treatment?

Would love an updated Rock Lobster given the Salt/LC200N treatment. Make it out of Ti to go with my Spydiechef and it would be even better!
