Great idea to promote MBC. I think a well made T-shirt would be a great medium. How about a MBC hat? Like Tee's and knives, can't have enough hats.:} Use the spyderco logo with the MBC initials and maybe something to give note to the different instructors. Whatever u decide, I'm sure I'll grab one.

I think the idea of a heavy duty endura with all the trimmings for the 1/4 century piece would be great. It's truly a defining knife for spyderco. Damascus steel, liners, beefy lock, maybe even Ti..., surely would be a hit.

I Survived the MBC course!!!

Just made it back home from the MBC course at SFO. I can't begin to say enough about the great time I had there. Day one was with Michael Janich who's zones of offense and defense really help to minimize confusion and give a great basic understanding to knife use. He really has a feel for what works...

I use a cold-steel SRK. Great combination of heft and balance. Just the right size for outdoor foraging.

This seems a logical fit with the knives and classes currently being offered. It's a chance to expose new people to the ideas and allow those involved to expand the concepts through the best means possible. Direct contact with those teaching. I think this just continues to show the foresight and ded...

Though I know next to nothing of metallurgy, this dendritic cobalt sounds very promising. As this is a cast material will it have decent strength for use in the marine enviornment, were there seems to be a lot of prying and banging about?

Tactical Knives Article

There's a great article in the latest edition on the spyderco gunting. Neatest thing is that it's wrote by Michael Janich! Can't wait to meet both later this month. I would luv to try out one of the gunting sheaths though. I think it would accentuate the utility of the gunting greatly.

I've carried a rescue on duty for years. Very good cutter, strong, and easy to deploy. The only time I wanted more is when I wanted to punch a hole or do some fine work which would require a tip of some sort. I think the knife should be strong, like a military, but light. No one wants to carry any m...

From what I understand the FAA rules limit blades to less than 4". The seration obsession was picked up by the individual airlines. I was told that at some seminar on safety a supposed expert showed how he could, "saw metal", with it. I've checked knives at several airports here and a...
